The man stood alone in the private room, staring blankly at the door, his eyes wide with disbelief.
His brain seemed to have stopped working; his thoughts were jumbled up, and he couldn’t even form a single, coherent idea.
He just couldn’t understand it. He had entered this deal with the confidence that he would emerge victorious, yet it turned out to be the opposite.
He was at an utter loss.
The man glanced at the box in his hands. The sight fanned the flames of his fury, but he knew he could do nothing about it.
Since things had come to this, he had no choice but to swallow his anger and move past the unfortunate incident.
The man heaved a long, weary sigh and walked through his own door.
He told himself it was fine even if the deal did not work out. Perhaps he could do better next time, and they would be able to come up with a favorable compromise.
The man walked out of the long corridor, then through another door. A while later, he came out in an underground parking lot.
A black car sped over and screeched to a halt in front of him.
The driver got out of the vehicle and reached for the box, but the man waved him away and let himself into the backseat.
He set the box on his lap and took off his mask.
If Yao Tanghad been present, she would have been quick to note that the man had a striking resemblance toYang Nian. He was none other than the head of the Yang family,Yang Jiang.
Yang Jiang leaned back against the seat and closed his eyes. He lost track of time as he delved deep into his thoughts.
“Head,” the driver called out at last. “We have arrived at the mansion.”
