As soon as Qin Jing’s voice echoed across the lawn, Yan Wei felt her entire body freeze.
What was their deal? For her to scream that she was an illegitimate daughter. She was supposed to shout it a hundred times.
If Qin Jing hadn’t reminded them of this, she would’ve found a way to slip away from them. However, now that all eyes were on her, she didn’t know what to do.
Li Ruo scowled. “Don’t tell me you’re serious about this,” she snapped. “It’s just a silly bet between classmates. You shouldn’t take that too seriously. Besides, is this how you treat your guests? Do you plan on humiliating every single one of International Middle Schoolstudents?”
While her friend was out arguing, Yan Wei didn’t say anything more. Instead, she stared down at the tips of her shoes.
“Bet?”
“So you’re not planning on sticking to your end of the bet?”
Hearing what Li Ruo had just said, everyone started sharing looks and chatting amongst themselves. They were glancing in their direction.
Qin Jing rolled her eyes. “We are polite to our guests, but weren’t you the one who wanted to bet? You were the one who wanted Yao Tangto bow down and apologize if she lost, right?” she countered. “The teacher tried to calm you down, but you insisted.”
“Yeah, she’s the one who wanted to make the bet with us.”
“That’s right. Don’t tell us that you’re going to back out now!”
Everyone from Class 20 burst into laughter.
The teacher stopped where she was going. She originally wanted to put in a good word for Yan Wei, but after hearing the student’s words, she decided to quiet down.

Besides, if she spoke up now, Yan Wei wouldn’t have appreciated her kindness.
She might as well keep quiet now and wait for the situation to develop. There was no point in defending her now anyway.
Qin Jing crossed her arms over her chest as she glared at the exchange students as if daring them to speak out against her.
“You really are too much.” Li Ruo’s face flushed red.
At this point, she didn’t know what else to say.
“Fine, Li Ruo don’t say anything more.” Yan Weiwaved her hand dismissively. “Since that’s what you want to see, then I won’t go back on my word.”
Even her principal from International Middle School has spoken. Not only were they from her school, but he had personally allowed Yao Tangto use them.
There was no excuse left.
She really has to stick to her end of the deal.
If Li Ruo continued to speak, then the people would only look down on her. Not only that, but they’d think that she’s nothing more than a coward who wouldn’t stick to her word.
With this thought in mind, Yan Wei turned around and walked away.
“Weiwei, where are you going?”
“The cafeteria,” she said boldly.
Meng Yang stepped forward. “Wait.”
There was a moment of silence when Yan Wei paused. Hope danced in her eyes as she turned around. “What’s wrong?”
What she didn’t expect was for him to pull out a small box from his bag. “It’s break hours, so there may be a couple of people at the cafeteria as we speak,” he said. “You should use this megaphone so that they’d hear you.”
He then added, “I borrowed this from Teacher Xi, and I have to return it to her later. You have to take good care of it.”
“Oh.” Yan Wei blushed in embarrassment.
She reached out to grab the megaphone, wanting nothing more than to smash it to pieces. Fortunately, before she could take it, he firmly held onto her wrist as a warning.
“If you refuse to follow our directions, then you can just go back on your word.” He shrugged casually. “It will be held against you though.”
“I…” As they were conversing, Yao Ranstood by the railings and glanced over at the five big trucks on the road. She clenched her fists.
She had heard everything from her classmates, so she wanted to see what was going on.
What she didn’t expect was for Yao Tang to prove all of them wrong and brought the reviewers from International Middle School.
And that man…he was the one who had transported the review materials for her?
What was going on?
Yao Ran was confused as different thoughts ran through her mind. She just couldn’t understand how this could happen.
Just then, she saw Yan Wei raise her head and stare in her direction. Although her expression was calm, she could see the anger and rage brewing in her eyes.
It was as if she was sending her a message.
Yao Ran’s heart skipped a beat.
