Older Sister Qin nodded. There was a maturity of seeing through relationships as a woman who had just experienced a failed marriage.
“After that incident, he hadn’t smiled a lot. Unfortunately, I left to study abroad and haven’t seen him in years. I heard from my brother, though, that he had been locking himself up in his mansion day in and day out and finally went to have a physical examination after he had met you.”
The little bit disappointed that Gu Shishi was feeling from the boss not showing up disappeared right away.
So he did go with her purposefully.
The system did not lie to her.
This was, indeed, LV4 doting!
The boss treated her differently than he treated others!
There was an inexplicable slight joy inside of her.
“He asked Dr. Qin specifically to ask you two to hang out with me?”
The two sisters nodded.
Especially Older Sister Qin, she had more to say about this.
“Back in the days, my brother had told me not to be with a phoenix man who didn’t measure up to me. That when relationships are mixed in with other factors, it’d only get worse and worse from that point forward but I didn’t listen to him.
“Looking at how Big Brother Huo treats you now, I realized that my brother was right.”
Older Sister Qin showed Gu Shishi her friend’s circle.
“He added Xiao Yi and I a week ago but never talked to us. He was probably monitoring our everyday lives.”
In short, he was investigating their friends’ circle.
“There are no impurities mixed in his feelings for you. He has no shortage of money or women. He has no ulterior motive.
“Other than being nice to you.”
Gu Shishi blinked.
Was that what happened?
All she said was she was bored having no friends and he proceeded to screening for friends for her?
“But he was still pretty cold to me on the surface normally.”
Gu Shishi took a sip of her coffee.
She couldn’t help but recalled those difficult days asking for gifts from him.
“He had wanted kick me out in the past. Even now, he either works all day long or hides in his study. Even when he is home, he rarely comes out to talk to me.”
The Qin’s sisters exchanged a look.
“That’s his psychological issue.”
Sure enough, the Qin’s were a family of doctors.
Both of them were experts in this field and they more or less had some idea of Huo Sishen’s mental and physical states.
“A lot of his actions are caused by the harm that he suffered back then. It could an overreaction or a subconscious avoidance.”
“Oh? Such as?”
Gu Shishi did not get to see Qin Ruhai very often.
And even if she did, she couldn’t possibly ask him anything about the boss in the mansion.
She worried that the boss would run into her talking about his condition and be upset over it.
Now that she ran into these two siblings, she wanted to take this opportunity to find out more.

Younger Sister Qin nodded. “Big Brother Huo has similar issues. You can ask my brother for more details.”
Gu Shishi felt enlightened all of a sudden.
She had always felt that the boss’s personality was quite awkward. His fondness would increase quietly or dropped abruptly.
So, this was all caused by the harm that he had suffered in the past?
That made sense.
He disliked vegetables, hated cold milk, preferred to be alone, in the dark, photosensitivity?
And he did not enjoy dining with others, or having Chinese food…
There were reasons behind all of those?
Gu Shishi searched her memories with her chin resting on her palm and noticed that a lot of them began to make sense.
Then she frowned.
Thanksgiving would be there soon.
She wanted to give the boss a gift. It is critical for her to avoid things that could be triggers for him.
Even if he didn’t like the gift, she still wouldn’t want anything that would bring back any bad memories.
