Chapter 88 – Helping an Outsider (贴外人)
Qiao Weimin wore a coat with his slippers, his suit’s pants wrinkled and his belt unadjusted. His hair, oily and in a complete mess. Along with his unshaven face, his overall image right now would definitely frighten off those people who knew him.
Although Qiao Weimin usually idled at home every day, he had always thought himself to be a large shareholder. Every time he left the house, he liked to dress himself up nicely and often pretended to sound profound with his words. He normally wouldn’t be what he looked like today; like a drunkard on the streets. His sour odor could be smelled before others could even come close to him.
It’s just that no one knew how shocked Qiao Weimin was right now.
He had just received a call from someone, telling him that Jing Yunzhao had spent two hundred thousand yuan on Old Li’s porcelain jar!
Two hundred thousand yuan ah! How did the brat get her hands on so much money!
In his heart, he was aware that the Qiao’s family deposit had up to millions, but all that money was saved up by him. Even his son and daughter could not use the money, not to mention Jing Yunzhao.
Then, the only possibility would be that she had swindled the money from others.
Of course, he did not care where the money came from. What he cared about was how all that money should have belonged to the Qiao family, but she was going to give it to Old Li instead? What rights did she have?!
Qiao Weimin strode forth and was in front of her almost instantly. He stretched out his hand, wanting to snatch the porcelain antique from her.
“This kind of porcelain jar costs two hundred thousand yuan!? I am going to shatter it into pieces!”
However, when his fingers had just touched the porcelain piece, Jing Yunzhao dodged by turning her body sideways. Qiao Weimin only felt that he had tripped over something and fell to the ground with a “thud”.
Old Li was startled but he quickly went up and helped him up.
But in Qiao Weimin’s eyes, he only saw money. Thus, he once again he tried to get his hands on the packet envelope in his arms.
Just when the packet was within his fingertips, Jing Yunzhao gripped his hand firmly.
“Robbery will put you in jail.”
Jing Yunzhao put on a poker face as she secretly used a great amount of force when gripping onto Qiao Weimin’s hand, resulting in Qiao Weimin howling in agony.
“Are you trying to break my hand, you rotten brat?! Let go!” Qiao Weimin managed to squeeze out these words, biting his lips to endure the excruciating pain. But more importantly, he was astonished. He had never known that Jing Yunzhao had such herculean strength, he thought his bones were about to shatter.
Just looking at Jing Yunzhao’s thin and clean hands, no one would ever believe that such a pair of hands would have this much strength.
Yunzhao was not as obedient as Qiao Weimin had thought she was. She pressed her hand firmly on his wrist bone. The pain grew too much for him, forcing him to retrieve his hands back to himself. Jing Yunzhao then took the chance and returned the packet envelope back into Old Li’s arms, before dragging him backward.
“Uncle, you have to keep a close watch on the money. Our deal is done, so this money belongs to you, if someone were to steal your money, it would be appropriate for you to report it to the police. Since this is not a small sum, if the thief were to be sentenced, they might be jailed up for quite a number of years,” Jing Yunzhao threatened.
Qiao Weimin was angered by her words.
“How did this money become his? It’s mine!” Qiao Weimin yelled.
When Jing Yunzhao heard his yelling, she was not angry but she laughed instead and mockingly added, “Yours? Are you sure you’re not joking with me?”
The things that she used and spent on before, which one wasn’t earned with her own hands? Even if she was still indebted to them, she should have finished paying her debt with the money that she earned for them in her last life.
“How is this money not mine? I now see that you are such an ingrate. Let everyone know how much money did I spend on you all these years by providing you with food, shelter and even school fees. It’s alright if you do not know how to express your gratitude, but you shouldn’t give the family’s money to outsiders!”
