Chapter 149 – Having No Sense of Shame (不知羞耻)
Jing Yunzhao turned to look behind and found two familiar silhouettes. She helplessly retracted her hand and used a wet tissue to clean it, not exactly the panicking expression the two were expecting to see.
Seeing that Jing Yunzhao was not going to speak up, He Jiasi curled her lips and stepped in front of Tang Zihua, “Zihua-ge, do the people of this tiny countryside not even have a sense of shame? To hold you so affectionately so early in the morning, aren’t they purposely trying to affect your mood and your studies? If Uncle back at home were to find out, he would surely transfer you back immediately!”
Following behind He Jiasi was Qiao Hongye.
Qiao Hongye was obviously a dorm student. Jing Yunzhao truly could not understand what they were doing, showing up together at the same time.
How could Jing Yunzhao know that, while He Jiasi looked easy-going, she was actually a tyrant in reality. That’s why she especially had Qiao Hongye wait for her at the school gates every morning and made her accompany herself into the classroom, just to show others how good their relationship was.
Qiao Hongye was looking at Jing Yunzhao with loathing at the moment. Her gaze carried a few traces of mocking, as if Jing Yunzhao was a mistress caught red-handed by the main wife.
“Jie Jie, this is where you’re wrong…” Qiao Hongye started softly.
Jing Yunzhao’s eyes darkened, her mouth faintly curling and slowly transforming into something coldly solitary, and spoke, “Shut your mouth. I don’t need you to teach me on whether I’m in the right or not.”
Qiao Hongye’s expression turned ugly. “I’m also doing it for your own good!”
“So you mean I still have to thank you?” Jing Yunzhao sneered and sized her up, before she spoke without holding back, “Qiao Hongye, in the past, while I thought that your character was only so-so, at least you still had some backbone. But I think I looked too highly upon you. Looking like a servant girl walking a dog, your servitude must be getting stronger these days. I give you a whole new level of respect!”
Qiao Hongye’s face turned red instantly.
She didn’t know when she started being unable to overcome and defeat Jing Yunzhao.
“Hmph! Continue showing off! After seducing Tang Zihua, you’re going to find out how the Tang family and He family are going to deal with you in the future!” Qiao Hongye deepened her voice and spoke harshly.
Compared with someone like He Jiasi, her pride and dignity had practically fizzled into nothingness. What other methods did she have?!
After hearing what Qiao Hongye said, Tang Zihua’s sickly face carried some anger. He looked at He Jiasi coldly and spoke, “You’re the one who told Qiao Hongye these words! He Jiasi!”
Nevertheless, He Jiasi, on the other hand, had on a wronged expression. She pulled Tang Zihua’s arm and complained, “Zihua-ge, what exactly have I told Qiao Hongye? People can tell from just a glance with you two being so obvious. Zihua-ge, your girlfriend is obviously me. She’s the one at wrong, getting handsy with you behind my back!”
“Girlfriend?” Tang Zihua’s face sunk. “He Jiasi, I never knew you’ve long set yourself in that position! Has our Tang family treated your He family too well?!”
During Old Grandpa Tang’s generation, the He family’s finances were abundant and could be considered on par with the Tang family. However, the old man from the He family passed away from illness afterward, while the Tang family expanded and became more influential. Ever since then, the differences between the two families were like Heaven and Earth. The He family’s business was a large company when compared to the businesses in Hua Ning County, but when compared to the Tang Family’s, it wasn’t even worth mentioning.
Old Grandpa Tang liked to reminisce the past. Thus, even when the He family fell, he continued to give the He family face. The two families younger generation were extremely close and they usually never mistreated the He family. The whole Ning City knew that the Tang family was the He family’s backing.
He Jiasi’s heart dropped, and her face was instantly painted white.
While she might have grown up with Tang Zihua, but the reality was that Tang Zihua was still a male. When the two of them got along, there was still a need for some distance. Plus, they truly had not confirmed their so-called boyfriend-girlfriend status.
