“Chuxi, are you all right?” asked Su Yizhi after everyone from the Qiu family had left along with Qing Lingyan and her handmaidens. Only the sounds of cheering remained around them. Yet, despite the jovial atmosphere, Ling Chuxi was still rooted to her original spot in a daze. Observing this, Su Yizhi could not help but be a little worried.
“Ah, I’m fine. It’s fine,” answered Ling Chuxi, regaining her senses.
To be certain, Su Yizhi checked Ling Chuxi’s pulse and as he indeed did not find any problems, he finally felt relieved.
“Everyone please, just quieten down,” announced Su Yizhi as he pressed his hands together to calm the extremely excited young people around them.
Everyone turned their lines of sight towards where Su Yizhi stood next to Ling Chuxi, waiting for him to say a little something.
“Today, there is finally a conclusion to the dispute between the Su and Qiu families that has lasted for hundreds of years. Now that we finally have two streams of medical knowledge within a single family, there is hope of reviving the sect once again. Moving forward, I will pass along this hard-won set of medical skills as well as the position of hall master of Resurrection Hall to Ling Chuxi,” concluded Su Yizhi.
The announcement that Ling Chuxi would represent the Su family as a participant at the Sword Pill Meeting had already greatly shocked the people of the Su family the last time. And today, they were once again shocked into silence by Su Yizhi’s lastest announcement.
Resurrection Hall was the thousand year foundation of the Su family. Handing it over to an outsider was a decision that nobody could have imagined happening. How did Su Yizhi come to such a decision?
“Eldest Brother, this, isn’t this a little too hasty?” inquired Su Yizhen who was clearest about Su Yizhi’s desire to rebuild the Golden Pill Sect, but even he could not refrain from questioning this decision.
Although the faces of Su Yanhua and the rest were covered in shock and surprise, they no longer opened their mouths and spoke unruly words like they did the last time. They had all already been subdued by Ling Chuxi’s medical and pill refinement skills. If one were to put aside the matter of her identity and her differing family name, Ling Chuxi was indeed the best candidate to inherit Resurrection Hall.
“I know what you all are thinking. However, I want to remind you all that the Su family’s Resurrection Hall is ultimately only one of three streams of the Golden Pill Sect. Back then, our ancestors left us this stream of medical skills in order to rebuild and revive the sect in corporation with the families possessing the other two steams. This was the Su family’s ancestral teachings. Could it be that all of you have forgotten this?” said Su Yizhi in a tone that was a little louder.
All of the Su family’s disciples heard Su Yizhi’s stern tone so none of them dared to look him straight in the eye.
“If even the Su family’s ancestral teachings have been forgotten, what qualifications do we have to call ourselves descendants of the Golden Pill Sect? Look at the current state of the Su family. What qualifications do we have to be called the descendants of the Golden Pill Sect? Do any of you even know who the people behind the Qiu family were? Those were people from Cold Moon Palace. If it were not for them causing trouble from behind the scenes, would the Qiu family alone dare to attack us?” continued Su Yizhi with some anger.
Everyone raised their heads. Only now did they learn that there was actually another sect supporting the Qiu family from behind the scenes. Thinking back to Su Yanyu and Su Yanjin who had yet to recover from their injuries, the faces of the people of the Su family all became overcome with expressions of anger.
“Thinking about how we were back then, the Golden Pill Sect was considered one of the five great sects so we wouldn’t even have had a sect like Cold Moon Palace in our line of sight. But what about now? All of you have seen the situation we are in today. Therefore, due to all these considerations, I am handing Resurrection Hall over into Ling Chuxi’s hands for its own good, hoping that she will be able to lead the Su family well and revive the sect to its former glory. Naturally, if there is anyone amongst you all who is able to carry this heavy responsibility, I would naturally be gratified,” said Su Yizhi, sweeping a sharp and pointed gaze across the rest of the Su disciples.
Receiving the pierce of Su Yizhi’s gaze, everyone showed shades of shame. With their abilities, they indeed did not have to qualifications necessary to run Resurrection Hall. There was no need to even further mention regarding the qualifications needed to revive the sect.
“Since all of you are silent, then let us just decide it like this,” concluded Su Yizhi. He also did not wish to nag anymore and firmly declared a conclusion to the matter. Then he bowed to Ling Chuxi and said, “I, Su Yizhi, the patriarch of the 107th generation of the Su Clan of Resurrection Hall, originating from the Su clan of the Golden Pill Sect, greet the new hall master of Resurrection Hall!”
Su Yizhi was the master of Rejuvenation Hall. Though Resurrection Hall was at times also known as Rejuvenation Hall, Su Yizhi’s words had made everything clear now.
