Xie Xuning held the paper being printed by the fax machine. He read the printed information about Ye Tianxin.
The first page contained Ye Tianxin’s personal information.
They were all basic.
It also included Tianxin’s academic performance in school, which was exemplary.
As Xie Xuning reviewed the information, he was surprised to learn that Ye Tianxin went to Jiameng Middle School. His eyes widened.
He couldn’t help but think, ‘Was this a coincidence?’
No… It couldn’t be…
Ye Tianxin resembled Ye Linlang, at least to him.
Xie Xuning’s heart was beating wildly.
Was she?
Was she Ye Linlang’s daughter?
Was she really his daughter?
Xie Xuning waited patiently for the second page to finish printing.
The important part of the result was now at Xie Xuning’s hand.
Among the many words, Xie Xuning was able to spot that Ye Tianxin’s mother was Ye Linlang. His heart skipped a beat.
He found it difficult to breathe. He was palpitating.
He was dazed. He was happy. Mixed emotions came rushing into him.
Before, Ye Tianxin as his daughter was just a hunch. Now, it was a fact–it had been proven. Ye Tianxin was his daughter.
He had been anxious and uncertain for such a long time. They instantly disappeared the moment he learned that he still had a family.
Tears trickled down his face. Xie Xuning leaned against the wall. The paper was now wet with his tears.
She was his daughter.
Ye Tianxin was their daughter.
‘Linlang, I found our daughter…’
No wonder, when they first met, he found her very familiar.
He was such an unfeeling person, but he wanted to get close to her. He found her amusing. He saw some of Linlang’s traits in her.
Xie Xuning realized that there was a reason why he felt that way towards Ye Tianxin.
They were related.
It was a pity that he didn’t understand at the time. He missed the opportunity to get to know her.
If he understood at that time, Tianxin would not be kidnapped. He would have protected her.
Xie Xuning collected the faxed information about Ye Tianxin. He stretched out his hand and wiped off his tears with a hanky.
Unaware of the kidnappers’ intentions in abducting his daughter, he must not tell anyone about this. Doing so would endanger Ye Tianxin. Revelations and reunions could wait.
Xie Xuning’s every step was heavy.
When he pushed open the door of the command room, everyone else looked at Xie Xuning in unison.
“No need to salute,” Xie Xuning announced as he walked in.
“How is it now? Any news of Ye Tianxin?” Xie Xuning tried to maintain a stoic expression, but deep down, he was mortified.
He was afraid that it would be too late to save Ye Tianxin. He couldn’t stop thinking of sinister things that Ye Tianxin might suffer.
Xie Xinghe glanced at Xie Xuning and thought, ‘Uncle seems a bit strange today. Did something happen?’
“Tianxin’s phone was found on a pickup truck used for maintenance by a power grid company. Currently, we are searching for information on two SUVs on Skynet. In addition, according to the images taken by Skynet, we found out that the people who took Ye Tianxin away were retired special task force officers of a certain country.”
Xie Xinghe’s every word caused ripples in the hearts of Xie Xuning and Li Qingcang.
“When did they enter the country?” Xie Xuning inquired. He was both aggrieved and exasperated.
Xie Xinghe shook his head. “There is no relevant information from the border authorities.”
