Chapter 271 – Lesser Void World’s Lang Ya Board
The more Zhong Yue came to understand about the existences sealed within the Seal Suppression Hall, the greater his apprehension towards the fate of Swords Gate grew. But he knew that needlessly worrying would not be of any help at all.
Only with strength can I protect my kin….
Zhong Yue sighed as he lamented the fact that the Great Wilderness was the only faint light of hope that humanity had in an otherwise dark and bleak existence.
And in the darkness lurked dangerous beasts that all looked towards Swords Gate like wolf packs stalking their prey, waiting for that last light to extinguish before they finally plunge in and devour the entire human race.
The old man’s imminent death didn’t help this situation either!
The humans of the Great Wilderness would be in great danger at that time, and a new Sword God had to appear before that time came!
Ao Shanshan brought the two into the door behind the Wu Dao Celestial Being, and as they passed through the celestial being, Zhong Yue felt an intense battle intent surging towards him as if there were a god of war standing beside him!
To be able to possess such strong battle intent even after death, he was indeed a mighty existence!
As they entered the door, they felt the world spinning as if they entered a portal that warped them from one dimension to another.
Then, Xin Huo’s voice could be heard saying, “This ain’t teleportation, this is the dimension transportation technique that is much more complicated than just teleportation!”
“Xin Huo, you’re awake?” Zhong Yue cried out with happy surprise as the little flame was mad at him for at least almost two months before he went into slumber to ignore Zhong Yue.
“Don’t talk to me. I am still angry!”
The little flame dude said, “But this lesser void world is strangely big. Fine, Master Xin Huo is a generous man, so you have his forgiveness for the time being. This Xiao Hou is very not bad; he is a great man who is on par with the Ancestral Dragon. Where you are standing right now is no longer the Ancestral Dragon as the door you passed through just now brought you to another dimension but as for where … I have no idea.”
Zhong Yue looked around in awe as in front of them was a vast and empty space that was even larger than the Ancestral Star by god knows how many times!
In the vast space, massive planets were hanging in the air very close to the ground; they seemed to be only a finger width away from them!
A true void would have nothing in them, no light, no sound, nothing – a real empty place, that was why spirit and souls could live on forever in the void.
And the lesser void created by Xia Hou was called as so because it could fit something in it.
And now, in between them and the empty space was an illuminating pale green barrier that extended from the left to the right for a distance that made its start and end point undiscernable.
“Amazing….” murmured Qiu Jin’er as she looked around.
This was a godly creation, a creation created by god!
The barrier was incredibly big and majestic with names carved onto the surface. Besides the names were rankings and incredibly realistic portraits of the people whose names were on the barrier.
Zhong Yue looked at the barrier, and he realized that there were humans, monsters, dragons and some other odd looking celestial races, as well as demons!
These names and portraits filled up the entire pale green barrier, and from time to time, some of these names would shine brightly, and some would turn dark.
These names belonged to those who entered the lesser void world right? Why do they shine and turn dark like that?
Zhong Yue looked around and found out that other than them, there were also Qi Practitioners from the other races that stood in front of the barrier. Some of them looked at the names on the barrier, while some walked towards the barrier before disappearing from his sight upon entering it.
“This is the Lang Ya Board, which is also known as the Green Board. One can enter the lesser void world after passing through the Lang Ya Board.”
Ao Shanshan explained with a smile, “These names are the names of those who entered the lesser void world. Their strengths would determine their rankings, and the Lang Ya Board is split into four boards respectively – the Greenhorn Board, Warrior Board, the Godlike Board, and the Legendary Board. This board has been here since five millions of years ago. Most Qi Practitioners land on the Greenhorn Board and those with high rankings were already talented geniuses that appear only once in hundreds or even thousands of years. To be listed on the Warrior Board, the Qi Practitioners are generally magnate figures, and the Godlike Board is filled with the strongest figures throughout these five million years. Many of them had even gone on to become gods!”
“All the names of everyone were listed here for five million years?”
Zhong Yue and Qiu Jin’er were in awe as this scene in front of them was way too unbelievable. In these five million of years, countless warriors were born into the Ancestral Star, and countless of battles occurred in this star. There must have been a myriad of legacies and legends left behind across this vast span of time.
However, all of these were all buried by time and who could still remember the names of those who fought for their kin after a thousand years, not to mention after five million years.
Thus, no matter what purpose Xia Hou had in mind when he opened up this lesser void world, he did some good deeds for the later generations. He paved the path for Qi Practitioners to etch their names down in the records of history.
“Then what about the Legendary Board, senior martial sister?” asked Qiu Jin’er.
“There’s basically no one on the Legendary Board.”
Ao Shanshan shook her head and said, “The Qiu Xiu Board is this barrier in front of us. The Warrior, Godlike, and Legendary Boards are in the Lesser Void World. Few have managed to get onto the Godlike Board, let alone the Legendary Board. From what I know, only four names have appeared on the Legendary Board, but I have no idea as to who these people are. After entering the Lesser Void World, you will all be transferred to the respective level Greenhorn Board. This Greenhorn Board in front of us is only one of the many Greenhorn Boards out there, and this one is for the level of Atman Body.”
She guided the two around before she placed the token onto the board, then the portrait of Zhong Yue and Qiu Jin’er appeared on the board along with their names. Xin Huo then looked at the Greenhorn Board and said, “This Lang Ya Board partially has the effects of soul lanterns. As soon as you pass through it, your information will be recorded. This Xia Hou is indeed incredible to a certain extent.”
Zhong Yue looked around and realized that the sun, moon and the stars were incredibly close to them, thus, appearing horrifyingly huge from this distance as if they were about to fall from the skies at any time.
Huh? This place looks a little bit familiar….”
Xin Huo was a little bit stunned and he suddenly shouted in shock, “This… This is still the Ancestral Star! This is the sealed Ancestral Star!”
Zhong Yue felt confused and replied, “A sealed Ancestral Star? Xin Huo, this is impossible the Ancestral star, just look at the sun and moon! They are so close to us, and the Ancestral Star has no such view at all!”
“This is the Ancestral Star!”
Xin Huo sounded very serious, and he said, “The Ancestral Star was originally extremely massive, it was way larger than this back then in the era of the Sui Sovereign and Emperor Xi. My guess is that part of the Ancestral Star was sealed away and the sun and moon here is probably not the sun and moon back in the Ancestral Star. However, the land we are standing on is definitely part of the Ancestral Star. Someone terrifyingly strong must have twisted the space and moved part of the Ancestral Star to another galaxy, and such strength is far beyond the capabilities of the likes of the Ancestral Dragon!”
Zhong Yue failed to get a hold on what Xin Huo was saying as he only grew more confused as to what he meant.
Xin Huo then said, “This land is part of and still connected to the Ancestral Star. Someone overlapped the space and moved this part of the Ancestral Star to another galaxy. The door you passed by just now is the connecting point of the Ancestral Star and this land here. If you destroy the door, the sealed portion of the Ancestral Star will return to its place.”
With that, Zhong Yue finally understood what Xin Huo meant, and as his psyche gushed out, he visualized a huge ball. His psyche turned into a rope that wrapped around the center of the ball. Then, the rope tightened up, separating the ball into two that were still connected.
The air still flowed to and fro in between the two balls.
The middle part where the balls were separated into two was the door, and if I destroy the door, it will loosen the rope, and the lost continent of the Ancestral Star will then be reverted to its original position.
Zhong Yue then released his psyche, loosening the rope so that the balls merged together, reverting back into the huge ball.
Ao Shanshan continued to lead them forward, and she said, “There’s nothing to see here, come. Let us go to the Warrior and the Godlike Board. There are also quite many human Qi Practitioners that have left their names on the Warrior Board.”
Qiu Jin’er sounded excited as she said, “Senior martial sister, who are these human Qi Practitioners?”
“There are way too many of them. The famous ones among them are the four young aces of Swords Gate whose rankings are extremely high. But other than them, there are also Elder Shui Zian and all of the headmasters of Swords Gate.”
Ao Shanshan then said again with a smile, “There’s also one human that had his name listed on the Godlike Board, any guesses?”
Qiu Jin’er’s eyes lit up as she ventured a guess, “The first headmaster of Swords Gate, he is definitely on the board!”
But to her surprise, Ao Shanshan only shook her head in response and replied, “The first headmaster of Swords Gate is more than enough to be listed on the Godlike Board but he died too early, and before that, he had never visited the South Barren.”
Ao Shanshan then said again, “You will know as soon as you reach the Lesser Void World City.”
Far ahead of them was a floating city that was incredibly huge and marvelous. From afar, they saw the city filled with the hustle and bustle from clusters of crowds that walked around the city, and they even saw two huge boards that hung in the skies. It gave a much more fantastical feeling when compared to the Greenhorn Board.
The three then went straight to the Godlike Board after they arrived at the city.
Before they even got close, Zhong Yue could already see the names and portraits on the board. There were not many Qi Practitioners who had their names and portrait listed on the board as there were only two to three thousands of them. But every one of them was an existence tantamount to gods.
Zhong Yue looked at the board from top to down, and he realized that the seventh place of the board was a human man. This man appeared to be very young, handsome, and elegant; but Zhong Yue lost his voice as he saw the portrait of this man.
“Feng Xiaozhong!” shouted Zhong Yue in shock.
Qiu Jin’er also exclaimed, “The face on the copper wall!”
“That is Feng Xiaozhong.”
Ao Shanshan smiled and said, “Throughout these five million years, there were not many that managed to get listed on the board. However, Feng Xiaozhong had not only managed to charge into the top ten, but he still had ample room for improvement. The dragon elders said that he could even hit the top five as he was definitely on par with the gods in regards to strength. With that talent and intelligence of his, he was definitely the first among all humans throughout these five million years, and he even surpassed the first headmaster that established the Swords Gate! Unfortunately, this man had gone mad.”
