Yun Bixue saw how displeased Xie Limo looked as she rubbed her ankle. “It really doesn’t hurt. It only started hurting just now.”
Xie Limo sighed deeply. “My wife, don’t treat me like an idiot. Of course I can tell when these blisters formed and when they burst.”
Yun Bixue met Xie Limo’s deep gaze and deflated visibly. “But really, I’ve only realized it a while ago.”
“Yun Bixue, you’re still lying. If you continue to do this, I won’t allow you to leave the house for the next few days.”
Yun Bixue tugged Xie Limo’s sleeves anxiously. “Don’t do that. I won’t tell lies. I have important matters to deal with at the office for the next two days, so how can I not leave the house?” She couldn’t stand being cooped up at home. As long as she had tasks to finish, she would still want to go to the office. However, she also knew that Xie Limo wouldn’t compromise when he got angry. That was why she had to negotiate and must not anger him.
Perhaps it was Yun Bixue’s lack of concern for herself that utterly angered Xie Limo. He grabbed her foot and took a closer look again.
Because her foot was hurting so much, Xie Limo’s action caused her to flinch in pain. “Ahh! It hurts…” Her face scrunched up as she gasped in pain.
Xie Limo felt helplessness and impatience in face of this situation. “Yun Bixue, you finally know that it hurts? Didn’t you endure it very well before this?”
Yun Bixue lowered her head, not unlike that of a child who had done something wrong. She replied in a soft voice, “I was scared that you’d be worried.”
“You didn’t say it because you didn’t want me to worry? Because you didn’t want me to worry, you let your feet hurt this much?”
Xie Limo’s questions rendered Yun Bixue speechless, so she just bowed her head. She assumed that he would be fine after he let out some steam.
Xie Limo sighed. “Yun Bixue, really, are you a child? Do you still need me to ask you about these things? Do you need it to hurt this much before you even tell me?”
Yun Bixue muttered, “Even if the blisters broke, I didn’t want to say it.”
Xie Limo had to grit his teeth at this point. He couldn’t bear to hit or reprimand her, so a headache was creeping up his head. He rubbed between his brows as he spoke seriously, “What kind of logic is that?”
“I don’t have any common sense, but seeing how much it hurts, can we go home?” Yun Bixue felt that if they continued this, he would just reprimand her over and over. That was why she used her soft tone to negotiate.
Looking at how coquettish Yun Bixue was acting, which was similar to a kitten, Xie Limo found it hard to remain angry. His heart ached for the pain she felt.
He picked her up in a princess carry to the car before driving home.
When they finally arrived home, Xie Limo took out the first aid kit and applied medication on Yun Bixue’s feet. His actions were attentive and gentle, as though he was treating the most precious doll. For every bit of medicine he applied, he checked her expression—he was afraid that she would endure even if she was hurting.
The more Yun Bixue saw how Xie Limo was acting, the more she felt like she had to endure this. She smiled at him, trying to show that it didn’t hurt. However, how could it not hurt? It hurt that much without moving, so what’s more to say when the medication was applied?
Afraid that Xie Limo would get even more worried, Yun Bixue joked, “Hubby, I’ve worn shoes for the entire day, so my feet are smelly. Won’t you mind?”
Xie Limo paused in his actions as he chided lightly, “What are you talking about? Since when have I minded?”
“So you’re saying that my feet actually stinks?” Yun Bixue widened her eyes comically at Xie Limo.
Xie Limo shook his head. “Stop wasting your breath. You know that’s not going to work on me.” Even as he said this, he still applied medication carefully. He was afraid that she would hurt her feet again if he didn’t do it well.
