Second Elder was so mad he kept pacing up and down. He thought to himself, as the second elder, he had always commanded the winds and rains, and he could go wherever he wanted. Everyone treated him with respect. But now that he’s here, there was nothing he could do, and now, he couldn’t even return to where he came from.
He had wanted to inform the Elder’s Home of Yun Bixue’s pregnancy, but he failed.
He was darned pissed off.
“Second Elder, these people are too much. They’re belittling us.”
“Exactly, Second Elder. Everyone treats us with respect. When have we ever felt so aggrieved?”
“We’re not even treated well.”
“And we’re forbidden from leaving the country.”
Those people who came with Second Elder were furious too. They had always relied on their master’s might to bully others and had never felt so aggrieved. Hence, they incited Second Elder to do something.”
Second Elder said, fuming, “Dumba**es, what do you know? If Young Master Xie hadn’t arranged this, would these people dare to do this? Besides, my identity cannot be exposed. I had come to Country A without permission, and that’s against the rules to begin with. Be silent while I think of something.”
“Yes, Second Elder.”
They hadn’t expected it was Young Master Xie who arranged for this.
Although these people were followers of Second Elder, they were in awe and fear of Young Master Xie too. Although they hadn’t seen Young Master Xie’s tactics with their own eyes, they had heard stories in the headquarters. Young Master managed to single-handedly extinguish a gang in his teens, and he had done so merely because this gang had harmed Madam before.
Everyone in the headquarters knew that Young Master Xie was extremely protective of people he cared about. If it’s someone he viewed as family, whoever dared lay a finger on them would die.
What felt strange to them was, when Miss Xie died, Young Master Xie didn’t take much action, and they found this incredulous.
What these people didn’t know was that Young Master Xie had laid the trap early on, and that he wouldn’t miss out on a single thing he ought to do.
…
After the skies brightened up, Xie Limo drove Yun Bixue home. He ate breakfast with her, then let her have a good rest.
Xie Limo had wanted to go on keeping Yun Bixue company, but he received an important news—His Majesty’s illness acted up.
Xie Limo’s face darkened. Seeing his expression, Yun Bixue knew something major must have happened.
“Limo, did something happen?”
“His Majesty’s illness acted up. I’m worried he won’t be able to survive this time.” Xie Limo gazed at Yun Bixue’s stomach as he was speaking.
He was actually rather worried. He didn’t wish to see the imperial capital become chaotic at this time. At least, it had to wait until Yun Bixue gave birth to the child.
According to his calculations, although there were about ten days to her expected date of childbirth, he had to leave about a month’s time.
Because Xie Limo didn’t understand about women’s confinement, he didn’t include the time for it in his plans.
He couldn’t allow Yun Bixue to suffer even the least bit of harm, and he couldn’t let her feel nervous or be worried.
Yun Bixue certainly understood Xie Limo’s concerns. “Limo, I’m fine. You go get busy!”
Xie Limo gazed at Yun Bixue who understood him, lowering his head and planting a kiss on her forehead. “You be good and stay at home. If something happens, call me.”
“Yes, don’t worry. My health is fine. I’ll control my emotions and not let myself get agitated.”
“Don’t see anyone, and don’t let anything affect you.”
Yun Bixue’s mouth twitched. “I know. Hurry up and go.”
After Xie Limo left, Yun Bixue laid on the bed by herself, thinking about what had happened over these past few days before drifting off into a nap.
Shortly, her personal phone rang, jolting her awake.
