“Haha, Brother Dali is indeed a smart person! I’m determined to be your friend!” Fang Han laughed. Both of them laughed for a while before Fang Han said, “Yes, Fang Wei is one of the stronger members of the younger generation in my family. His ‘thing’ is very powerful and he has several habitable planets. He has been fighting with me for the position of the family heir. If I had fought with him today, things would be rough in the future. However, you’re my friends and it wouldn’t be right if I just watched him bully you. So… hehe, thank you.”
“I understand, I understand,” Hong Dali said with a smile. “I get it.”
It was a regular occurrence in a big family. When Hong Dali was on Earth, he already had experience with it, so it was natural that he understood what was going on. In fact, when he saw the attitudes of Fang Wei’s people earlier, he already knew that Fang Wei wanted Fang Han to attack him. If Fang Han had attacked he would have fallen straight into Fang Wei’s trap. That was why, once Hong Dali understood what was going on, he was not angry at all—simply put, in Fang Wei’s eyes, Hong Dali was just a fuse. If Hong Dali really attacked him because of this, the consequence would be dire. Not only would he offend Fang Wei, but it would also be hard to explain to Fang Han. It would be troublesome either way.
It was better this way. Although he offended Fang Wei, he won Fang Han’s friendship. Comparing this situation with the alternative, this was naturally much better.
“Speaking of which, Dali is quite clever.” Tang Muxin was quite satisfied with Hong Dali’s performance. She smiled and whispered to Li Nianwei, “He’s a klutz at the little things but astute when it comes to big things. That’s what I like about him, hehe.”
Tang Muxin’s affections for Hong Dali +2, yes, yes.
Speaking of it, the Frost Palace was actually quite empty. There were no boring little monsters. There was only one lonely person in the whole hall which was nearly 5,000 square meters big. He was the real target of everyone, the evil ice mage Herazl.
“I, Herazl, am the strongest God of Frost. Mortal, why are you not on your knees upon seeing me?” The evil ice mage Herazl saw Hong Dali and the others and immediately raised the staff in his hand. Before they even had time to prepare, a snowstorm that was about thirty meters wide blew straight at them.
The snowstorm was so huge it destroyed the teams’ formation. Just one attack and Fang Han had already lost a hundred people.
“Brother Dali, stand aside.” Fang Han did not expect the fighting to start before they even had time to prepare. He quickly arranged everyone. “Everyone, form into groups of five, scatter and proceed!”
“Oh, oh, oh.” Hong Dali now understood why everyone was so nervous. It seemed that this ice mage was really difficult to defeat. Even Tang Long, who was perched on his shoulder, exclaimed, “It’s an elemental revolving mage. This should be fun.”
It was actually an elemental revolving mage!
Tang Muxin opened her eyes wide and watched the battle carefully. While watching, she asked, “Uncle Tang Long, I’m also an elemental revolving mage. Who is more powerful, me or him?”
“It’s hard to say.” Tang Muxin became an elemental revolving mage after going through one of the rings of the Five Element Wheel, the Ring of Water. Tang Long knew that, but there were differences between every mage. Tang Long said, “The elemental revolving mage is actually just a collective name. Not all elemental revolving mages have the same amount of power. In short, there are different levels of elemental revolving mages. Herazl is a non-playing character(NPC) generated by the virtual world, so his elemental power is about the same as that of an intermediate-level mage. Any higher and it would be a Main City-level elemental revolving mage. The ice walls they make are at least five meters thick. I doubt we will ever meet one of those.”
“What about me, what about me?” Tang Muxin asked impatiently, “How am I?”
“You are just a beginner.” Tang Long smiled. “Watch the battle. Speaking of which, you’re really lucky to be here today. This is a great learning experience for you as a beginner-level elemental revolving mage to watch an intermediate-level elemental revolving mage battle. Furthermore, he is of the same element. Your gain here is much more than any reward.”
By this time, a large-scale battle had already begun in the hall. Herazl was indeed an intermediate-level elemental revolving mage. His ice bolts shot out like bullets from a machine gun. The people in Fang Han’s group fell in batches like cut wheat. They lost more than five hundred people in a short time. At that time, they were still sixty meters away from Herazl!
Sixty meters was not a big distance, but facing an elemental revolving mage, it was like attempting to cross a huge chasm.
“Dali.” Tang Muxin secretly pulled at Hong Dali’s clothes. “Should we go and help?”
Among the four people in Hong Dali’s group, Tang Muxin was an ice mage, Li Nianwei was a metal mage, Lucifer was a dark mage, and Hong Dali was an all-element mage. It would not be a big problem if they were to help, but before Hong Dali could reply, Tang Long said, “Try to stay out of it.”
“Why?” asked Tang Muxin curiously.
“It’s important for elemental revolving mages,” Tang Long explained. “You have no foundation in reality. Once someone finds out your identity, it’s easy for them to find you in real life. Even if they are not a threat to you, they would be really annoying. So, don’t expose your identity before you build a strong foundation!”
There was a reason for him to say that.
This virtual world was parallel to the real world. What did it mean to be an elemental revolving mage? That made you a friendly intermediate-level player, which meant you had certain benefits when exploring. Therefore, once people realized that you were an elemental revolving mage, countless companies would approach you. If they did not kidnap you outright, just the hundreds of companies looking for you would be enough to annoy you…
“Okay.” Tang Muxin sat down on the ground. “I will just watch the battle.”
Li Nianwei and Lucifer sat down too. The two of them were not ice mages, but it was still beneficial for them to watch the battle.
The problem was, the three of them could settle down and watch quietly, but Hong Dali was getting restless—he was naturally playful, and unless he was tired, there was no way he could stay still…
“I’ll go take a look around. You guys watch here,” Hong Dali said.
The fight continued. Herazl suddenly shouted, “Humans, you’re very strong. You actually managed to break through my barrier. But that’s nothing. Ice elves dancing in the air, I summon you. Punish these blasphemous humans!”
“Blizzard! It’s a blizzard!” Perched on Hong Dali’s shoulder, Tang Long exclaimed in surprise, “He is just a City-level boss, but he is able to use this skill!”
“Eh? Blizzard? What is that?” Hong Dali looked over curiously.
At this time, Fang Han also noticed that something was not right and shouted loudly, “Run! Everybody, quickly run!”
Soon, the top of the palace rumbled. Freezing winds and snow descended from the sky. Numerous ice bolts rained down and ricocheted within the Frost Palace. The temperature plunged and anyone who was caught by the blizzard froze in two seconds.
“Wow! It’s so powerful!” Hong Dali watched, stunned. “This move is super cool!”
They were just watching and did not feel the force of the attack, but Fang Han and the others who were in the battle were having a hard time. With just one move, another one thousand and five or six hundred people died.
By then, there were only about three hundred people left. All of these people had relatively higher attributes and ran faster. Everyone else who had lower attributes was dead.
“Damn, if we had any martial arts secret manual, even a low level one, it would be enough to end this fellow.” Fang Han said vehemently, “Unfortunately, we have not been able to find any martial arts secret manuals! Damn it!”
There were only about three hundred people left. Although Herazl had just unleashed a big move and was in a weakened state, the ground was covered in ice and snow so it was not easy for Fang Han and his group to advance.
During that ten seconds or so when Herazl was in a weakened state, Fang Han and the others managed to get to a distance of about twenty meters from Herazl. However, by this time, Herazl had recovered!
“It’s over.” Seeing that there was a new wave of ice bolts, Fang Han gave up completely.
There was no way to win.
The palace was not very large. That one big move by Herazil covered 90% of the area and it was mobile. Unless the entire legion had practiced martial arts secret manuals, there was no way to counter it. Once you got caught in the blizzard, you’d die. How were they supposed to play?!
Soon, the remaining three hundred people in Fang Han’s team fell like cut wheat. Fang Han himself was barely holding on. At the last moment, Fang Han turned to look at Hong Dali and was just going to tell him to gather back in town when he saw something that stunned him.
Everything started simple enough.
Hong Dali was naturally restless, so he followed the wall and wandered around. Before long, he found a handle on the wall and a bunch of keys nearby.
There was a door!
Since there was a door, it should be opened. Out of curiosity, Hong Dali opened it.
That was when things got exciting…
It was a big group of forest elves! More than two thousand of them!
When the prison gates of such a large group of forest elves were opened, they suddenly rushed out. Some nocked their bows and drew their arrows, some cast spells to dispel the cold. There were some who thawed everyone out. After just a minute or so, most of the three thousand people Fang Han brought had recovered!
“It works like that?!” Fang Han was so surprised his jaw almost hit the ground. “I wondered how come we lost tens of thousands of people and we still cannot kill the ice mage. We had to cooperate with the forest elves that have been locked up! God!”
“This… this must be a joke?!” Tang Long was shocked as well. “You… it works like that?!”
Hong Dali sniffled and smiled. “Ah, I find that my luck is not bad. When we entered the forest, I heard the elf’s pleas for us to save her companions, so I wondered, where could they be? And I really found them…”
What the heck, it works like that!
