The clan leaders and Noah watched as Sam threw the energy capsules like he is throwing rocks. Even if every capsule is not killing everyone that it hit, its severely injuring them.
Their injuries are not letting them fight normally which is enough to cause their death easily in this battle field.
Akhil is going through these people like a hot knife through butter.
He is not stopping, not even properly defending.
Sam could see all the openings in his from a mile away.
But none of the mercenaries grew the balls big enough to take advantage of these openings when they looked at that menacing grin he had on his face. Its almost like he is enjoying killing everyone with just a swing of his staff.
And in fact he is. The ass beating he got from Sam before this, made him feel extremely down on the dumps. Now he got a proper chance to take his anger on someone.
As for Arkiv, it is almost like he is having a walk in his park. None of the attacks even made near him. He is doing multiple shots at the same time and he is defending and attacking with just his arrows.
Noah and Kumar looked at this and they almost wanted to slam their faces.
They knew these mercenaries wouldn’t do much damage. The only thing they wanted from them is to make the trio exhaust as much energy as possible. But to their dismay, these people are not even doing that.
“Just tell them to use all of their energy pull back. They wont be any use at all. Tell them to just release all of their trump cards at once. I will compensate them for it.”
Noah said in exasperation before turning to one of the elders.
“Where did you even get these people? They are too bad. I thought your realm is advanced, but you guys look like pampered babies in front of the lower realms.
Sam had better challenge when he was younger, fighting Acolytes and Novices.”
Her directly onslaught of words made the elder a bit ashamed.
He is the one in charge of recruiting and only he knew why the quality of the mercenaries is bad. The only reason he got the mercenaries is to appease Noah and Kumar and since they are paying quite a good sum, he took the opportunitiy to just swallow some money.
He took the leftover mercenaries after all the clans finished their hiring at a cheaper cost and just stol some money from the compensation.
Noah looked at his face and seemed to have guessed what he had done. She didn’t bother with now though. With Sam, Arkiv and Akhil charging at them, it would be a suicide mission if she cared about things like this.
She looked at the mercenaries as they prepared their trump cards and started the attacks.
For the first time, Akhil retreated.
As he saw attacks of multiple elements coming towards him, his muscles bulged with the golden spiritual energy coursing around him. The earth around him cracked with just his presence and with even a minute moment of his hand and the staff, the cracks kept on getting bigger.
He stomped on the ground and launched himself vertically into the air.
Sam looked at him and he could feel the energy around Akhil being moulded into the form of a large ape holding a staff and the ape is mimicking the exact moments Akhil is making.
He spun his staff as he crashed towards the ground the with swing.
The attacks that are coming towards him were directly crashed against and dispersed. He then slammed the staff on the ground. The large energy staff carried by the energy ape also landed.
*BOOM*
The explosive crash created a large crater which ran towards the clan grounds and hit the formation.
On its way, the crater killed more than two dozen mercenaries that are in its path along with multiple houses and buildings blowing them away.
Even mercenaries standing a bit far away from the impact took the aftershock and fell on the ground swaying uncontrollably.
Akhil swung his staff again with that same grin and looked at the mercenaries scattered around.
He looked towards the clan grounds and spoke loudly.
“COME ON NOAH, PUT UP SOME FIGHT AT LEAST.”
While he is yelling, Noah didn’t miss it, but she could only roll her eyes as she is focused on What Arkiv and Sam are doing.
Arkiv took out what looked like a special arrow and pulled his bow to the extreme. Even that bow that is of a top notch quality creeked like its made out of some second rate wood.
The surrounding energy all came to life as it hurriedly gathered itself around the arrow. It is almost like each spiritual energy particle is racing towards the arrow trying to be first and all of a sudden, the energy gathered seemed to have disappeared as it went into the tip.
Arkiv with a very faint smile, let the arrow.
*WHOOSH*
The arrow whistled through the air as it made its way towards the attacks coming at him. It seemed to have created a forcefield around it as it cut through the wind and deflected or dispersed the attacks that came in its path, before it landed directly in the back oxf one of the mercenaries.
The energy wave exploded out of his body and made its way through the crowd before destroying the land, houses and people in that particular radius.
Sam’s move is not as flashy.
He just clapped his hands as the attacks neared him and as if the surrounding energy has received a command, it acted on its own and most of the attacks that came towards him were just deflected and some of them are even repelled to different sides causing the mercenaries to take the brunt.
Noah and Kumar looked at the whole scene, but they didn’t seem that surprised.
The same didn’t go for the rest of the clan members though.
They are surprised beyond their wildest imaginations. They didn’t expect that the trio will not only repel all the attacks, they even did that so seamlessly. After all, they are not just some normal attacks, they are trump cards of all of these mercenaries.
“Why are they so abnormally strong?”
The clan leader asked Noah and Kumar.
Both of them exchanged a glance and didn’t even know what to say for that.
They know that they are strong and except for Sam’s strength, the other two players’ strength is actually within their expectations.
In fact, the thing that surprised them the most is the fact the people in this realm are way too weak. The people who are at the same level as them are practically not as half as strong as the players. The disparity is way too much.
Noah and Kumar didn’t bother answering that question.
Noah shook her head and ordered.
“Tell your young masters and clan elders to go. Only ranged attacks and always pull back into defense. Don’t get into a direct fight. And also make the ranged attacks from within the clan grounds. Don’t let them come near the formation.
Meanwhile tell the mercenaries to recharge, They need to get out of here after a while and do the same thing they did until now.”
“Is that really necessary? They barely did any damage. It is almost laughable.”
“I know that too. But whatever exhaustion we can bring onto Sam, we need to do it. Even if it is just a small grain.”
“Why bother with all of this? Why don’t I just go and kill them? The disparity between the Divine Plane cultivators and Astral Plane cultivators is way too large. You wouldn’t be able to fathom it.”
The clan leader proposed.
Noah sighed and said as she pointed at Sam on the screen.
“If it is not that guy right there, I would have loved to let you take care of this. But unfortunately, that creature is our opponent.”
“So?”
“So, we need to be careful. I have never seen him go into a fight that he isn’t absolutely sure about winning. It is not an exaggeration to say that he won every single fight he ever picked.
And I am pretty sure, he never picked a fight with someone weaker than him. He always punched above his level and he always won with absolute advantage.
Even with all the preparations, I am sure we wont be able to kill him today. He will just escape if he wants to.
So, the best course of action is exhaust his energy before letting him face you. At that time, when you put enough pressure on his partially exhausted state, he will lose.”
Noah said in all seriousness.
The clan members were a bit skeptical though.
“How strong is he compared to you two?”
The clan leader asked. He is sure of Noah and Kumar’s strength. To earn their trust, they were tested and he is very sure of their strength.”
“We don’t really know. Because as far as I know, we never really pushed him to his limit. I am guessing you might grant me that sight of him fighting at his limit.”
Kumar said.
As the clan members are mulling over the words, Sam, Arkiv and Akhil are moving towards the clan. But of course, they are now dealing with the new waves of attacks that are being dealt by the young masters and the elders.
