Qu Xiujie sounded helpless. The more he wanted to see how everything would turn out, the more he could not see it. The more he could not see it, the more his heart ached.
“Uncle, don’t worry. If anything happens, you still have us. We’re all here.”
Pei Ge’s voice was clear and her exquisite face became brighter. “Uncle, you are our hope, so if you see Old master Qu, don’t quarrel with him anymore. I know that you will quarrel with him, but since he is a patient, don’t quarrel with him and take good care of him.”

Pei Ge was confused. She was not so ugly until the point where she could not meet people. She was also not the enemy of Old master Qu. So why could she not meet him?

Ji Ziming’s voice was low. He was really worried when he saw how eager Pei Ge was.
In such a long time, Old lady Qu had only seen Pei Ge a handful of times. However, it was rare for Old master Qu to see Pei Ge. As long as Pei Ge appeared in the news, Old lady Qu would intentionally or unintentionally prevent Old master Qu from seeing her.
This saved Ji Ziming a lot of trouble.

After the two men left the Ji family’s villa, Pei Ge sat in the living room and stared blankly at the new cup of tea.
Why did this Uncle Bai drink tea from Qu Xiujie? Who was Uncle Bai? Did she miss something out or did Uncle Bai hide something from her?
Pei Ge made up her mind to visit Uncle Bai again. When she arrived at the alley where Uncle Bai’s noodle shop was located, she saw a little girl being carried by her mother to buy seven-colored candy.
The girl’s skin was fair and smooth. Her mother’s face showed signs of age, but her appearance was still friendly and kind. When she smiled, it was so gentle, just like the spring breeze, it blew in waves, changing the scene continuously.
Pei Ge looked around for a while before walking into the alley. However, the Uncle Bai noodle shop that she was familiar with never opened its door again. There was a metal lock on the door with a special wooden sign that read, “The shop owner is not at home today.”
She had been here many times, but this time, she was filled with disappointment.
It was as if the source of everything was here and Uncle White knew everything. Yet now, Uncle White was not present.
Pei Ge asked many people in the alley, but no one knew where Uncle Bai had gone. They only knew that he had closed his stall for a long time, so long that Pei Ge had forgotten when was the last time she brought Ji Ziming to eat noodles.
Walking out of the alley, Pei Ge got into the car. The driver asked where she wanted to go. Pei Ge looked at the people outside the window but did not know where the person she was looking for was.
“To the coffee shop.”
Pei Ge picked up her phone and sent Qu Jingwan a message, “Let’s meet at the coffee shop.”
Qu Jingwan quickly replied, “Okay.”
The two women stayed in the coffee shop, and the atmosphere was very good. The people in the shop were rich ladies who wanted to kill time. They had nothing to do and were happy to drink tea in this mall or go shopping. It did not matter to them even if they spent finish their money.
“Did you come to find me for something today?”
Qu Jingwan’s red lips were as red as ever and her tone was as fierce as ever.
“Yeah, or do you think I am here for a blind date with you?”
Pei Ge looked at the menu and continued, “How about a cup of Guixia coffee?”
“I’ve drunk most of the coffee in this shop. Drink whatever you want, I don’t want anything.”
Qu Jingwan refused to admit defeat and merely asked for a glass of water from the waiter.
“Alright, you can have some water then. I’ll order a cup of Guixia coffee.”
Pei Ge did not refuse. Since it was Qu Jingwan who wanted it, she had no reason to disagree.
