Ji Ziming narrowed his cold eyes at Qu Jingwan. The moment he thought of all the things this lady had done in his family, he would get the urge to kick her out. If not for Pei Ge, he would have long asked this missy to leave.

The missy looked meekly at him, but he was not buying it.

He was disinterested; it was already testing all his control not to throw her out.

The lady felt exasperated. She had finally escaped her grandmother’s clutches to look for this man, yet he was showing her this uncooperative attitude; how could she take it?

He looked up, and seeing her annoyed look, the corners of his lips curled into a devilish yet alluring smile.
“You! I’m here today to warn you that my grandmother is already ready to act on Qu Xiujie, so tell him to be careful.”
Although Ji Ziming did not agree to make a deal with Qu Jingwan, he knew that this time around, she had honestly intended to tell him about Old Lady Qu’s plans.
“You came only for this?”
He stood up and put the documents in his hands into the shredder. Listening to the sound coming from the machine, he continued speaking. “Miss Qu, if you’re only here to tell me that, please go back. I’ve long learned of that from the moment your uncle left the Qu family and sought me.”
“Does it mean that I’m only asking for an insult by looking for you today.”
Qu Jingwan stood up straight, looking like a little bird next to the tall man.

His voice was aloof. “If you’re done speaking, please leave. My wife will be back shortly, and I’m afraid that she’ll misunderstand us if you stay here for too long. Also, please help close the door when you leave.”

After saying that, Qu Jingwan turned around and was prepared to leave but was pulled by the man.
“Tell me in detail what you mean by Pei Ge being exposed to danger soon.”
Ji Ziming did not care about other things, but when it came to his woman, he would listen no matter who talked. That was because Pei Ge was his weakness—his everything and his world.

She could finally feel pleased; the smile on her red lips was especially glaring.
“Speak!” bellowed the man. If the one in front of him were not Qu Jingwan, he might not believe it, but he knew what this lady’s grandmother’s tactics were and how ruthless she could be.
“You’re the one who didn’t believe me and refused to strike a deal with me, so you can’t blame me now.”
She broke free from his grip using force. She had earlier let go of her advantage just to gain his trust, but he did not cherish it, refusing to even thank her.
Now that he finally wanted to strike a deal with her, she would purposely not do so.
She was neither someone who could be easily bullied nor a child whom others could reject.
“Say it again!”
“Say what?! Even if you want me to repeat it ten times, twenty times, or even a hundred times, I’m telling you that we no longer have a deal to negotiate with. You rejected me earlier, so what now? Want me to speak clearly? Hah! Impossible!”
Qu Jingwan looked coldly at Ji Ziming. She was not a woman who could be bullied by anyone, not even this man.
“My patience is limited. You’d better speak clearly what you wanted to say earlier; if not, I won’t let you leave this door today. I won’t let you leave this office. You can just try if you don’t believe me!”
He pushed her against the wall, and this act of his looked especially ambiguous.
“Get off me!”
She purposely shouted in her tender voice, but she had no idea that the CEO’s office was soundproof. No matter how she shouted, no one outside heard her.
Dang! The office’s door opened following her shout.
Pei Ge entered the office and immediately saw the man pinning Qu Jingwan to the wall. For a moment, she did not know what to say.
“Ge Ge…”
The man was the first to react; he had lost all his aggressive stance when dealing with the missy. He looked at his woman with gentle eyes and spoke softly. “Don’t…”
“I’m here to let you look at this document. Are you guys done talking?”
Pei Ge stood at the door and looked at him gently.
“We’re done here.”
Ji Ziming did not manage to extract information from Qu Jingwan, but that no longer mattered at this point. He only had eyes for Pei Ge; only by having her at his side would he feel reassured of her safety, and that was what he should prioritize.
“Alright. Since you’re done here, let’s talk about the proposal for the acquisition of Red Star this next quarter.”
Pei Ge completely entered the room, her composed look surprising the missy. What mentality did this woman have, such that she could remain calm when she saw her husband pinning another woman on the wall? She could even talk about work and pretend not to have seen anything.
If they traded places, she would probably start a war with the man.
