Pei Ge received the pen from Ji Ziming, and just as she removed its cap, there was a knocking at the door. The person was someone in his thirties and was dressed in a black suit with a pure-white shirt, looking utterly nondescript. The only thing about this new arrival that made the man uncomfortable was his eyes. Although the way he looked at his woman was not as obvious as Cheng Liqing, he, who had been in business for a long time, knew that the person at the door was no kind person.
“Manager Cheng, the HR department head, Zhang, wants to resign, and now, the office is in chaos.”

After saying this, Pei Ge signed her name on the contract and passed it to the manager. She then signed her name on another copy of the contract. Both did this.
Once they finished signing the contract, she stood up and shook the manager’s hand while smiling. “I look forward to working with you!”
“Pleased to work with you!” The manager choked slightly. “This is our second time working together, actually.”
“Second time?” Pei Ge frowned and did not understand what he meant by his words. When was the first time that they had worked together? She did think that she was familiar with Red Star but did not know that they had collaborated once before.
“Manager Cheng, since the contract has already been signed, you should settle your company’s affairs.” Sitting beside the woman, Ji Ziming’s dark eyes deepened. His stare made the manager shudder as the latter understood that he had committed another mistake.
The first collaboration happened during the man’s first visit to the company, and he was welcomed by the director himself. They signed a confidential agreement, and only both lawyers and people present knew about the details of the contact. Therefore, how could a mere director’s assistant know about such secrets?
“Yes, yes, yes. Ma’am, keep the signed contract properly, and I’ll do the same with mine. I hope that under yours and the CEO’s leadership, our company will thrive better. I’m sincerely thankful that you two didn’t let Red Star go under. Thank you for being willing to support it.”
“You don’t have to say such polite words to my wife because she doesn’t care about all these.”
The man’s dark eyes deepened as he stood up. “Since the contract is signed, we can take our leave.”
“Alright.” Pei Ge nodded. Her slightly permed hair was let down. She wore the latest timepiece from Heavenly King Watches on her wrist, and the beautiful diamond was like a sharp blade that broke down the manager’s line of defense.
“The contract is signed, and we should go.” Ji Ziming’s eyes shifted, and he spoke while looking at his woman. The endearing love in his cold eyes surprised those present. It turned out that the legendary cold and aloof CEO was actually a man who doted on his wife. No, it would be more appropriate to say that he was a man who loved getting jealous.
The man’s large hand covered her delicate, small hand. “Come; let’s go home.”

“Mhm.” He took her away from the manager’s side, his icy eyes still on the guy. The manager was so frightened that he dared not lift his head.
Before the pair walked away, they heard a commotion.
“I want to resign! Who are you to stop me?!” This voice sounded uncowed by anything.
“Sir, think about how the director treats you! How can you forsake the company now?” A fine woman’s voice was heard.
“I don’t care about any of that; I just want to resign right now. If you don’t give all of my salary, I’ll waste time here with you. Let’s see if you have the ability to withhold my salary.”
“We can give you your salary, but it’s not right to make your subordinates resign with you. Our company just received funding, and all your salaries equate to half of this. This should be used for the company to tide over. You can resign now, but can’t you wait for the company’s situation to improve before asking for your salary?”
