Even though Qu Jingwan said and did nasty things from time to time to try and dampen her mood, Pei Ge was unbothered.
That was because she knew that her son still remembered her.
While he was still wary of her, she could tell that he was softening.
As he did not reject her when she passed him his toys and just accepted them awkwardly.

Smiling, she passed the last piece of wooden block that the boy needed to him.
The lad glanced at her before he took that piece of block.

An An and Ran Ran praised their brother generously, so a smile appeared on his face.
Qu Jingwan, who was standing at the side, found this scene an eyesore.
She thought of what would happen if the boy stopped rejecting his mother; with that… what she wanted to do would not work.

The three kids and the woman were all stunned by what had just happened.

That was the castle he had put a lot of effort into building.

When she saw her cry, the missy took this chance to shove Pei Ge aside as she hurriedly brought him in her arms and patted his back gently.

The other merely glanced coldly at her, her attention onto the boy.
She knew that her son would not take any explanation from her.
Her relationship with him was finally warming up; she did not want any accidents, so she smiled at the boy and gently said, “I’ll build you an even prettier castle.”
She then picked up all the wooden blocks on the floor and began to piece a castle similar to the one she made with her kids before.
“An An, Ran Ran, come; let’s build a swan castle just like what we built that time.”
Following her call, the two children sat down next to her with a smile and began to build a castle anew.
As Ji Chi watched them piece a new castle together, he struggled out of Qu Jingwan’s embrace.
“Baby, come, join mommy here.” Pei Ge gently reached out for the boy when she saw his reaction.
“Yes! Little brother, come on; your swan castle is really pretty.”
“Mhm!”
He nodded and sat down next to his mother, no longer that wary and hostile of her.
He did not even object to her calling herself mommy.
The missy almost exploded in anger when she saw this scene unfold before her eyes.
