“Mommy, we’re here!”
The deeply asleep woman was woken up by her daughter and drowsily opened her eyes.
The green patch outside cleared her foggy thoughts from sleep.
She was back to New York again.
Retracting her gaze, she looked at the children sitting by her side.
When she saw how happy the two were, as though they had returned home, her lips twitched.
These two grew up here, after all, so they had attachment to this place.
Unfortunately…
“I miss little brother…”
Just as the plane landed in New York’s airport, Ran Ran started grumbling about how she missed Ji Chi.
“It’s alright; we’ll be back soon. When the time comes, you can play with him again.”
She rubbed the child’s head consolingly and gently.
To be honest, she missed the boy, too.
When the plane landed and she opened her eyes, she was already missing that little kid.
If only he could come with them…
Alas, due to some complications regarding the child’s travel permits and her being in a rush to leave, as they were on their way to New York to deal with some urgent matters, the day they flew here, they could not bring him with them. Hence, they sent him back to the Ji family mansion in the meantime.
“Then, let’s return soon; little brother must be missing us a lot!”
“Okay, mommy! Let’s return soon. Brother will be missing us.”
The corners of her lips curled up when she saw their concern for the boy.
“Alright! Mommy will settle this matter fast and bring you guys back to find Ji Chi!” she said softly, patting them on their heads while smiling.
Ji Ziming’s forehead twitched slightly when he heard this conversation between Pei Ge and the children.
He looked at them and remained silent.
He recently had some questions which he could not figure out.
He even began to think about where Qiao Jingyun had gotten his son from.
If she did not climb onto his bed, why did that boy exist?
Everything seemed to be inconceivable.
Actually, he had accompanied Pei Ge to New York, first, because of her and, second, to go to where Qiao Jingyun had given birth.
He felt that there was a need for him to go and take a look.
He might even come across something useful there.
Looking at the clear blue sky above, Pei Ge’s woes about Tang Xiaoyu had lessened somewhat.
This only lasted for a bit, though, as her heart sank the moment she saw her best friend. The latter was lying in bed, looking pale and emotionless.
“Xiaoyu?”
She called out to her best friend, who seemed to have lost her soul, in a quivering voice.
“What’s wrong with you? Don’t scare me!”
She rushed over to her side.
Alas, the moment she reached her best friend’s bed—
“Leave! I don’t wanna see you! Get out!”
