The corner of her mouth twitched when she heard the dial tone.
That dummy actually hung up on her.
Even though she grumbled on the surface, the smile on her face betrayed her real feelings.
Raising her head, she stretched her body lazily.
“Ah! Today’s weather is so great…”
I’d better hurry up. My precious kids are waiting for me.
What she did not expect, though, was for the man to get to her place earlier than she would.
When she opened the door, she found her two kids not waiting for her like usual.
Just as she was feeling confused, she heard cheers and laughter coming from the kitchen.
“Uncle is so good! I wanna eat this!”
“No, no. Daddy’s making this for me!”

When she heard this tender voice, she came to the realization that the man had gotten here ahead of her, and he seemed to have been here for a while as he had already taken over her kitchen for cooking!
After changing into her slippers, she hurried into the kitchen.
She saw her two kids and Ji Chi standing at the kitchen doorway, watching the man cook food in awe.
“Guys.”

“Mommy, why are you back only now? Uncle has been waiting here for a long time already.

“And dogs!”
“And chickens!”

Pei Ge could not help but smile when she saw the same excitement on her children’s faces.

With this thought in mind, she sneaked a peek at the man.

He seemed less a high-and-mighty man, less like a god, and more like… a regular father whom his kids adored now…
