Chapter 594: A Huge Misunderstanding

In the ruins of a destroyed city, a frightening zombie reached out its bony arm, and jumped at him with its rotting smell.
He wanted so badly to hide, but he couldn’t move his body. He watched the skeleton covered in rotten flesh get closer and closer, and then it pressed down on his face, piercing his skin with its sharp fingers.
“Ah!” he screamed, waking up from his dream.
A grey shadow flashed in front him. His cheek still hurt from the attack, and suddenly he smelled bird poop.
“Richard! Come over here, you bastard!”
He figured out what happened. Richard must have stepped on his face and jumped over him, scraping his nose with its wings covered in bird droppings. That was why he had that stinking nightmare.
“Quack!” Richard fluttered its wings and flew further away. “Why are you waking up so late today? Even later than I do. I’m punishing you a little so that it won’t happen again!”
Zhang Zian lifted his head and saw that it was already bright outside. The hazy morning light shone through the curtains and onto his face.
He was suddenly covered in cold sweat. What time was it then? Why did he wake up so late that day?
He looked around. All the elfins were already up except for Pi. Even Fina and Snowy Lionet had headed downstairs.
Bang bang bang!
A knock on the shutter door came from downstairs. Then, his phone started vibrating. It was a call from Lu Yiyun.
“Hello? Mr. Manager? Are you outside?” she asked over the phone.
“No, I got up late. I’ll answer the door right away! Just a moment!” he whispered, trying not to wake Pi up.
But Pi was already awake. It rubbed its eyes, and sat up in its chair.
“Pi, get some more sleep. It’s still early.” He spoke hurriedly as he got dressed. He took a quick a glance at it, and noticed that Pi’s eyes were brighter than they were yesterday, and that it seemed to be in good mood. He wasn’t sure if it was an act or not.
“Eek.” Pi shook its head, and jumped off the basket hammock. Zhang Zian was about to help it, but it landed steadily and didn’t need his help.
What was going on?
Zhang Zian scratched his messy hair, and was confused. Without realizing it, he’d already forgotten about what had happened last night, as he was no longer so hopeful. He didn’t expect any miracles to happen.
Anyways, it was good that Pi was finally becoming more energetic. He needed to go downstairs and open the door for Lu Yiyun quickly, in case she got sick from standing outside for too long.
He finished getting dressed and bumped into Famous, who had just walked out of the bathroom. He casually asked, “Famous, why is it so quiet this morning? Why didn’t any of you wake me up?”
Famous was chewing on its toothbrush, and vaguely answered, “I don’t know. I was the second to last one to wake up before you. Everybody seems quiet today. I don’t know why, but it’s impressive.”
Zhang Zian was speechless.
He looked at the time. It was only half an hour later than usual, but it was still early. Most commuters wouldn’t get up this early, except for the poor ones from major cities who had to spend three hours riding the metro to get to work.
He picked up his phone, went downstairs, and opened the shutter door for Lu Yiyun. Since he had just gotten up, his body was still used to the heat from his warm blanket. The cold wind flooded in from the outside. He opened his mouth and let out a sneeze.
“Mr. Manager, did you catch a cold?” Lu Yiyun asked with concern as she untied her scarf. “Do you want to head back upstairs and rest? I can take care of the shop with Wang Qian and Li Kun.”
“No, I’m fine.” Zhang Zian rubbed his nose. “I just got up late.”
“Okay,” Lu Yiyun said doubtfully. After all, she had never seen Zhang Zian get up so late before.
“Right. I have an extra assignment for you today.” Zhang Zian looked around and didn’t see anyone else. He quietly slipped two colorful flyers into her hands.
His discreet behavior alerted Lu Yiyun. She looked at the flyers, and her face turned as red as an apple. She threw them on the floor as if she had been shocked. “What—what is this Mr. Manager? What do you want me to do exactly?”
At that moment, Wang Qian and Li Kun pushed open the door, each holding a pancake in one of their hands.
Wang Qian walked in front of them, and his foot landed on one of the posters, leaving half a shoe print on it.
He bent down and carefully picked up the paper, and then stared at the scantily clad young girl on the cover.
“M…Master, what…what are you planning? Is…is this benefits for the employees?” He asked in shock.
Li Kun was chewing on a piece of pancake. He picked up the other flyer, squinted his eyes and read the words out loud from the back. “Hot girls…School girls…Mature office lady…Stranger’s wife…Call 138…”
Wang Qian also flipped over the other poster and read it out loud. “Supreme Leisure Center, 24 hour door-to-door service, Essential oil back massage. Thai-style massage…Chinese massage…Cupping, Scrape therapy, Abdominal treatment?”
Bam!
Bam!
The plates in their hands fell onto the floor, one after the other. They stared at Zhang Zian and could hardly believe it. “Master, are you…are you planning on changing your career?”
Lu Yiyun held Jasmine and hid behind the two guys. She fearfully looked at Zhang Zian, and spoke with a shaky voice. “Mr. Manager, I can’t believe you’re like this.”
Zhang Zian coughed and cleared his throat. “What are you thinking? Yiyun, I’m asking you to design a little poster in reference to this. The title will be ‘Li’s Supreme Snack Bar for Cat Fanciers’, and you can take care of the rest of its content. It has to be attention-grabbing, and stir up curiosity after reading it, so that people will come to the restaurant to find out more.”
“What?” The other three all opened their mouths wide with shock.
Zhang Zian briefly explained his plans on using the cats in Sun Xiaomeng’s clinic to help Uncle Li’s snack bar business. It would be a triple win.
However, advertising was absolutely necessary. Otherwise, who would know about the restaurant changes, and that they could eat while playing with cats?
After careful thinking, he decided that posting flyers was the most cost-effective and efficient way. Then, he had peeled off two small posters from the utility pole to ask Lu Yiyun to make a design using those examples. He wasn’t transitioning from a pet shop to a massage business.
“That’s why! Master, you’re a great game player, and even the gods approve of your strategy!” After understanding everything, Wang Qian used the opportunity for flattery.
“Bullsh*t!” Li Kun rebuked. “Master is a god!”
“Right, right! Kun is absolutely right!” Wang Qian followed Li Kun’s advice and changed his stance immediately.
Zhang Zian grunted, “Don’t just stand here and talk nonsense. After Yiyun finishes the flyer design, the two of you are in charge of putting them up.”
“What?” Wang Qian and Li Kun looked at each other and grumbled.
