Unbothered by what had just happened, Mu Siyin sat in front of the dining table and glared at the duo before saying, “Why are you assuming that I was referring to you?”
Li Tongzhi and Mu Xingyu’s faces turned black in a snap.
“Mu Siyin! Let’s see how long you stay so arrogant!” Li Tongzhi stomped her feet in anger.
“Be my guest. I’m going to eat my breakfast now.”
Mu Xingyu stared at Mu Siyin, who had sat down opposite of her and started to eat. “Where are your manners? Dad and grandma aren’t even here yet!”
Mu Siyin raised the glass of milk and slurped. “I’m a slow eater, so I’ll have to start first.”
“…”
It did not take long for Mu Heyuan and Old Madam Mu to come out of their rooms.
Their expression turned ghastly when they saw Mu Siyin enjoying her breakfast alone.
Mu Siyin lifted her glance indifferently and greeted the duo. “Good morning, dad! Good morning, grandma! Come and eat your breakfast. It won’t taste good if it’s cold.”
Old Madam Mu silently snorted as she paced forwards. “Why are you up so early today?”
Mu Siyin smiled. “I’m going to the company today, remember? It’s only normal for me to get up early.”
Old Madam Mu’s face stiffened when she heard this. However, she was not the only one.
Since Mu Siyin had disappeared for two days, they thought that she had changed her mind and that everything she said before was probably just a joke.
They did not expect things to play out this way.
“Ha! You’ve only just graduated, Mu Siyin. What can you do at the company but be a laughing stock?” Li Tongzhi mocked.
Mu Siyin grunted softly. “A laughing stock is always better than a parasite.”
“You…”
“Moreover, how do you know that I’ll humiliate myself in the company?”
Mu Xingyu snorted. “How do we know? We can see it! A jewelry designer’s job is not as simple as you think. Do you think you can sketch around, just like you did in university?”
Mu Siyin smiled lightly. “Thanks for your concern, but it’s not necessary.”
Mu Xingyu was so mad that she wanted to pour milk all over Mu Siyin’s face.
Seeing this, Old Madam Mu pulled a long face and said, “We’ll be straight with you since you’re going to work at the company, Yinyin. The company is not a place for you to flaunt your status. There are rules to adhere to, and you have to obey them like the others.”
Mu Siyin smiled with her eyes squinted. “Don’t worry, Grandma! Nothing can be accomplished without rules. I know.”
“Yeah. It’s good that you know.”
Mu Xingyu’s lungs could explode in anger right now.
However, the Old Madam had already agreed to it, so there was nothing she could do!
As Mu Siyin still did not have a car, she could only hitch a ride from Mu Heyuan.
Mu Heyuan’s face darkened, but he said nothing.
Mu Siyin sometimes wondered if she was really Mu Huyuan’s daughter because she had never once in her life felt Mu Heyuan’s fatherly love.
If there were stepmothers, then there would also be stepfathers. Yet, even so, Mu Heyuan would fail miserably if he were a stepfather.
Sigh.
When they got to the company’s underground parking, Mu Siyin volunteered to get out of the car first. Then, she leaned her head back to ask Mu Heyuan, “Did you inform the design department about this, dad?”
Mu Heyuan put on a poker face and nodded. “Just head upstairs.”
Mu Siyin showed him an ‘okay’ symbol before she turned around and headed towards the direction of the elevator.
The jewelry design department stood on the twentieth floor, so Mu Siyin headed up immediately after she arrived.
“Nice to meet you. May I ask who…”
“I’m Mu Siyin, and I’m here to work.”
Mu Siyin’s directness shocked the lady receptionist, and the latter widened her eyes in surprise.
“Mu… Second Young Lady?”
