“Hmm, where has Childish Di been?” He Bai scratched his hair and smiled thinking about the surprise that Di Qiuhe had mentioned to him, with that he went to the bathroom to get ready.
Another thirty minutes or so had passed before Di Qiuhe returned holding a tray in hand.
He Bai leaned over, he raised his eyebrow and asked with a cheeky smile, “serving fried eggs or porridge?”
That were basically Di Qiuhe’s signature dishes.
Di Qiuhe smiled, he scratched He Bai’s hair and handed him the tray, “Haha, wrong and wrong, sandwiches and milk.”
He Bai smiled and started to enjoy his brekkie snuggling in the sofa, he felt happy.
The two were now in F Country where the “Wolf Venom” crew was based, they were waiting to meet the director to discuss Di Qiuhe’s contract and a potential investment contract. After breakfast, He Bai thought Di Qiuhe would take him to the crew, it turned out Di Qiuhe had other plan, he asked He Bai to stay in the room and watch documentaries with him for the day.
Seeing the snacks on the table, He Bai asked in confusion, “I think today we are seeing the director for our cooperation, that’s not today?”
“Nope, I’m seeing Director Nate tomorrow.” replied Di Qiuhe, he squeezed He Bai on his cheek, “Know yourself and know who you are working with, that’s the way to reach cooperation, come over here, these documentaries are all Director Nate’s work, let’s do some homework before I officially meet him.”
Ah~ smart Childish Di!
He Bai accepted this suggestion with alacrity, he snuggled on the sofa with Di Qiuhe and began to watch the first volume for the day.
Di Qiuhe said he needed to do a quick errand in the middle of the documentary, He Bai said sure while his eyes still glued on the screen.
Di Qiuhe felt like he deserved more attention, he leaned over and pretended he was about to bite He Bai on his cheek, thus He Bai gave him his due attention.
That was a really long documentary, He Bai was totally immersed in it, he was hooked on Director Nate’s style. He did not realize Di Qiuhe had gone for a long time until the bodyguard knocked on the door and reminded him it was lunch time now.
“Have you seen Qiuhe? He told me he was going to run a quick errand, yet he’s still not back.” asked He Bai with concern, he checked the time and said, “I hope everything is okay.”
“Don’t worry Mr. He, Mr. Di just told me it was the traffic, he was already on the way back.” explained the bodyguard like he was told to.
Hearing that, He Bai frowned harder, “Hmm, do we have any bodyguard gone with him?”
“Yes, three bodyguards, we keep each other updated every ten minutes, please don’t worry.”
He Bai now felt a bit better, he went back to the sofa, seeing the lunch on the table that the bodyguard just brought him, and thinking Childish Di who was stuck in traffic, he had zero appetite. He decided to call his Childish Di, he wanted to hear his voice.
Qiuhe answered the call very quick, hearing his voice, He Bai now was finally rest assured, he asked, “Where did you go? Are you all right? Don’t skip lunch.”
“Some local specialties for grandpa, when we were in his house I noticed he spent a lot of time enjoying his old photos taken in this country, I figured he must really like it here.” answered Di Qiuhe, and he asked with a cheeky smile, “You miss me already, yeah? I’ll be home soon, it looks like there’s some accident ahead, the police officers are on it now, have you had lunch?”
‘Ah~ he was buying local specialties for grandpa, what a good boy.’
Knowing his Childish Di was perfectly safe and sound and he would be home soon, He Bai hang up the call happily.
While it turned out it was not as soon as Di Qiuhe said on the call, he didn’t come back till dusk.
He Bai was waiting at the hotel gate, seeing their car approaching, he ran towards the car.
“I’m here.” Di Qiuhe rolled down the window, he signaled He Bai to jump on the car as well, “It’s getting late, come, I’ll take you out for dinner.”
Seeing Di Qiuhe was driving the car, He Bai asked, “Why are you driving? Where’s the bodyguard?”
“They are in the car that was following us.” answered Di Qiuhe, he touched He Bai’s cheek and said, “Sorry, puppy, I’m not around today.”
“It’s not your fault, you did a sweet thing for grandpa. How was the accident? I hope everything is all right. Have you eaten? We can just grab a bite nearby if you are hungry.”
Di Qiuhe patted He Bai’s hand in a soothing way, he started the engine, “I had pizza for lunch, don’t worry about me, plus I made reservation already.”
He Bai now felt better, he noticed there was a giant box sitting on the back seat, “Is that the local specialty in that box for grandpa? It’s giant, and wait, what am I smelling right now? The sweet smell?”
“Yup, that is some artware, there is sweet smell in the car because I had a cupcake just now.” answered Di Qiuhe, while a meaningful smile flashed across his face.
“Wow, that is a giant artware.”
“I’ll show you what it is at dinner.” said Di Qiuhe.
He Bai nodded with a smile.
