“They’re all clones you made, right?”
“Old Lu, you are indeed the man who understands me the most.”
Lin Ya’s words were filled with pride. She felt that this was something worth showing off.
Professor Lu’s expression was complicated.
Although cloning technology had been banned, many countries were still researching it. This was no secret.
However, Lin Ya was the only person in the world who could do research on her own and produce on such a large scale.
This showed how crazy Lin Ya was…
“Where did you get so many of them?” Professor Lu looked at the human cocoons covered in silk and felt an indescribable feeling.
Lin Ya only smiled faintly.
“Of course, my clones are all one in a million… I picked them from the gene banks around the world through hacking and then sent people to steal them. Although the process was a little complicated, I got what I wanted…”
“How long have you been doing this?”
“About seven or eight years…”
“It’s been so long, when are you going to wake these clones up?” Professor Lu asked Lin Ya.
Lin Ya started to act coquettishly to Professor Lu.
She hugged Professor Lu’s waist as if they were an old couple.
How many years had it been since Lin Ya acted like a little girl like this?
Honestly, the professor was very tempted.
How many days and nights had he been sad over Lin Ya’s accident…
If it wasn’t for the fact that he wanted to research how to revive Lin Ya, he really wanted to die and accompany Lin Ya in the afterlife.
“Old Lu… You really hit the nail on the head. This is why I really want to obtain the Red Demon from you… I’ve been researching for so many years, but I’ve never been able to solve a problem.”
“What is it?”
Lin Ya moved her lips and said in a low voice, “On the surface, these clones are perfect. They are even more perfect than the original body because they have some special abilities that are not human. Some are extremely strong and some have superb memories. However… all of the people, or more accurately, all the clones have a flaw.”
The professor did not say anything and just listened quietly to Lin Ya.
Lin Ya looked at the professor and paused before continuing, “They can’t eat normally.”
“Then what do they rely on to survive?” the professor asked.
There was another five seconds of silence…
“They eat people,” said Lin Ya slowly.
This surprised the professor. ‘Eating people’ were such simple words but they came out of Lin Ya’s mouth easily.
The professor reacted quickly. He immediately asked Lin Ya, “So, the Leila you released…”
“That’s right. She has always fed on people for survival. That’s the only bottleneck I haven’t been able to break through over the years. It’s alright if you say that my experiments have failed. It’s alright if you say that my… skills aren’t that good. I didn’t want this to happen either. But since they’ve already formed and are all like my children, I can’t bring myself to destroy them myself. Leila has all the shortcomings of clones, and she’s extremely savage by nature. Especially when she’s looking for food, the image of her would be very bloody and violent… She would eat hearts and drink blood to survive. Of course, if they’re not hungry, they’re still docile, just like normal humans.”
“Do you know what you’re talking about, Lin Ya?”
This was the first time the professor had called Lin Ya by her full name after reuniting with her. Lin Ya was not used to him being like this.
