Her former colleagues in the hospital were excited to see her.
“Vice Director…”
“Ahhh… The Vice Director is back.”
“Vice Director, the baby will come soon, right? Where do you plan to have the baby? Will you come back to South Side? We missed you.”
Huo Mian was surrounded by doctors and nurses, making her bodyguards very tense; they watched the crowd alertly to ensure their young madam’s safety.
“I came back to do an errand. You guys get back to your work. Don’t mind me.”
With a smile, Huo Mian walked toward the DNA Test Center.
She didn’t want to put such an important issue into another person’s hand, so she decided to do the test herself.
She compared the DNA samples extracted from Zhixin’s hair and Uncle Jing’s hair.
When the result came out, she was stupefied…
She read the result of the test with trembling fingers.
“How can it be?”
“Vice Director, can I help you?”
A test technician walked over.
“Read this result for me.”
Huo Mian hoped she was mistaken.
That guy took the result and glanced at it; he said with a chuckle, “It’s obvious. These two people are father and son.”
“This is… impossible. Absolutely impossible…”
Huo Mian had been confident about the test result and she intended to disprove Uncle Jing’s identity with it, so Zhixin and her mom would see the deception. But now…
The result was not what she had expected. She was so shocked that she ran into the washroom and threw up…
“Vice Director, are you okay?”
Scared, an assistant nurse patted her on the back.
“I’m fine. It’s a normal reaction of pregnancy… Go back to your work.”
“Vice Director, the OB/GYN Department wanted me to ask you if you need a prenatal check.”
Unsettled by the vomit, Huo Mian waved her hand to show she didn’t want to do the check.
She left the hospital as if she was in a dream.
With the test result in her hand, she went directly to the company.
“Hello, Mrs. Qin.” Assistant Yang was always happy to see Huo Mian.
“Where’s my husband?”
“President Qin is in a meeting. Do you want me to call him out?”
“No, I’ll wait until he comes out.”
She sat down on the sofa with a heavy mind and didn’t drink the warm milk Little Yang brought to her.
Qin Chu finished the meeting and saw Huo Mian sitting there with a pale face.
“Hon, you got the result?”
Without a word, she handed the report to him with an unreadable expression.
Mr. Qin had studied medicine for years and understood the words on the test result.
“What? They are father and son? How can it be?” Qin Chu was astonished.
“Yeah. Hehe… How weird… I’m sure Uncle Jing died… His body was a mess. We even held a funeral; it was an unforgettable occasion. Hon, how can a dead person come back to life? Isn’t it ridiculous?”
“Shall we go to the North Hill Graveyard and see the inside…”
“No. Uncle Jing is gone and deserves a peaceful rest. We can’t disturb him because of some people’s scheme.”
Qin Chu wanted to open the coffin and see the bones even though the flesh was gone.
Huo Mian was adamantly against this idea because she knew without a doubt that Uncle Jing was dead. It was a fact.
“Mian, what’s your theory?” Qin Chu knew Huo Mian was a good thinker and he wanted to know her thoughts about this weird thing.
