Huo Mian said to Han Yueyao mildly like a big sister living next door.
Han Yueyao felt warm inside.
“No. I’m just afraid I’d embarrass myself in the contest.”
“You won’t. You did well last time.”
“Sister Mian, what are you doing here?”
“Nothing. I’m jobless now and have lots of free time at hand. Remembering your second round is coming up, I came to see you.”
“Yeah, it’s this weekend.”
“Do you have confidence in yourself?”
“No,” Han Yueyao replied frankly.
“Haha.” Huo Mian chuckled at her frankness.
“I truly have no confidence in myself. Sister Mian, I think I’ll be eliminated this week.”
“Why are you so pessimistic?”
“It’s not pessimistic. They are so good. They dance well and are popular. I’m the most unknown one.”
“Believe in yourself. I’ll root for you. I’ve made a bet that you’ll win. If you fail, I’d treat your President Su with a feast of seafood.”
“Haha. You bet with Su Yu? Then I’m sure you’ll lose.”
Han Yueyao’s mood lightened and she felt relaxed due to Huo Mian’s casual manner.
Huo Mian took out some facial masks from her bag before she left.
“These are a few facial masks developed by Ning’s newly established biotech company. She said the ingredients are pure herbal and even pregnant women can use them. I applied one last night and found it’s quite good. You must try it. You stay up very late and your skin is showing the effects.”
Huo Mian didn’t bring Han Yueyao expensive gifts, just a few facial masks.
After returning to China, Qin Ning established a biotech company to make facial masks because she found the market was full of fake products. She employed some professors at a high price to develop new products. She had given some masks to Huo Mian to try the effects because these masks contained no hormones or chemicals.
Han Yueyao took the masks happily. “Great. My face feels dry lately. Thank you, Sister Mian.”
“No problem. Go on with your practice; I’ll go to Su Yu’s office and have tea.”
Then, Huo Mian went upstairs and bumped into Su Yu who was walking out of his office.
“Ha. I was about to go and get you. How can you not come to me first when you’re in my company?” Su Yu chuckled.
“Here I am. I didn’t forget you.”
Huo Mian entered the office while her bodyguards stayed outside since they knew she was safe with Su Yu.
An immediately brought in a mug of warm milk to her.
“Hello, President Huo.”
“Thank you, An.”
Taking the milk, Huo Mian sat down on the sofa in Su Yu’s office.
“Dr. Huo, are you feeling bored after losing your job?”
“Very bored.”
“You can come and work for me. I need a girl to make tea for me.” Su Yu teased her.
“Okay. But… you’ll get the bad end of the deal. I’ll be in labor soon, so I’ll ask for maternal leave the moment I begin working for you. After the leave, I’ll quit my job… Haha, it means you’ll pay me several months’ salary for nothing in return.”
Su Yu: “…”
“I didn’t think of that. You’re a genius.” Su Yu admitted defeat to her quick thinking.
“Mian, you’re good to Han Yueyao, visiting her so often.” Su Yu was puzzled.
“President Su, you’re good to Han Yueyao, too. Among the many performers in your company, you only promote her, right?”
For a second, Su Yu didn’t know how to answer the question.
