“How?”
“You can ask Dr. Huo.” Su Xiaoxiao smiled slyly.
“She’d kick me out.” Han Yueyao put a hand on her face, exasperated at the girl’s lousy idea.
“Haha, no kidding. In fact, the answer is simple.”
“Don’t tease me.” Han Yueyao no longer believed Su Xiaoxiao’s words.
“No. I’m serious. My uncle is handsome and has a high social status; he’s powerful and charming. The most important thing is that he’s so devoted to Dr. Huo. Any woman would fall for him. I don’t think Dr. Huo is immune to him because she can always keep her head clear; after all, no one can keep a clear head before love, right?”
“You mean…”
“I think there’s only one reason for it: Dr. Huo’s man is so excellent that he overshadows my uncle… So, Dr. Huo can only see that man.”
“You mean Sister Mian’s husband? I saw him only a few times; I don’t know him well so I can’t make any comments.”
Han Yueyao tried to recall the few times she had seen Qin Chu; she remembered he was a gorgeous man of few words.
But Sister Mian was very obedient to him, leaning against him like a little girl.
Maybe that was what love should look like?
“Dr. Huo’s birthday party must be a big occasion. My uncle is thoughtful to have bought you clothes for it.”
“Because he wants me to help him.”
“Don’t say that. If he only wants someone to help him, anyone can do it. But he chose you. Hahaha…”
“You’re imagining things. Since I’m going to the party too, he thinks it’s convenient to go together…”
Han Yueyao didn’t want to delve into Su Yu’s motives.
The girls chatted in the dorm room until midnight…
– At South Hill Manor –
After the kids were asleep, Huo Mian and Qin Chu went upstairs into their bedroom.
“Honey, put on this and I’ll take you to a place.”
Qin Chu pointed at a bag on the bed.
“What’s this? A uniform?”
“Yeah, kind of.” Qin Chu smiled but didn’t continue.
“Someone is in a certain mood today… But it’s useless since I can’t do it with you…” Huo Mian blushed.
“You’re imagining things… I didn’t mean that.”
Mr. Qin thought Huo Mian looked the cutest when she blushed.
“What uniform is it? Policewoman or stewardess?” Huo Mian asked curiously as she opened the bag.
Qin Chu didn’t answer.
Her eyes turned moist when she took out the jacket.
It was indeed a uniform, a familiar one, too.
“Where did you find it?” Huo Mian smiled with tears in her eyes.
She was holding a school uniform jacket of the 2nd High School; the sight brought lots of memories to her mind.
Afraid that her school uniform would get mixed up with other girls’, she had asked her mother to embroider the character “Mian” on the collar.
Subconsciously, her fingers moved to the collar; when she saw that familiar character, tears welled up and slid down her cheeks.
“Do you like it, Honey?” Qin Chu hugged her from behind.
