“Hey, watch your reputation. You’re a chief physician, you should be more ladylike!” Su Yu smiled at her as he played with a toothpick in his mouth.
“I have never been a lady, okay? Your premises were wrong to begin with.”
“Fine, fine, everything you say is right. I can never beat you.” Su Yu looked at Huo Mian with high spirits.
“Why are you here?” curious, Huo Mian asked Su Yu.
“My company is having a party here as well…” Su Yu’s answer was nonchalant, but he could barely contain the excitement in his eyes.
A long time ago, he realized that Huo Mian rarely frequented nightclubs. When she did, she only came to Seductive Fox, since its owner was good friends with Qin Chu.
Since then, Su Yu only came to Seductive Fox for parties, in turn significantly increase his chances of running into Huo Mian.
For him, being able to occasionally see Huo Mian was more than enough.
“Nice outfit… it matches you.”
Huo Mian was wondering why Su Yu was being so nice to her when she heard him add, “It’s just as childish as you are.”
“Screw you… I knew you will never say anything nice to me. I was just wondering why you were being so nice, but you lived up to my original expectations…” Huo Mian laughed.
She had to admit that things were no longer awkward between her and Su Yu; he felt like an old friend of hers, with whom she could joke around and chat…
As long as Su Yu didn’t act all serious or confess his feelings towards her, Huo Mian wouldn’t feel uncomfortable around him.
“I’ve always been like that…” Su Yu retorted proudly.
Then, he suddenly remembered something funny and said, “Let me tell you a joke.”
“I’m listening.” Huo Mian nodded intently.
“My grandpa set me up with Song Yishi yesterday. Yeah, you heard right, that bitch, Song Yishi.” Su Yu emphasized.
Huo Mian immediately felt bad for Su Yu, “Did you end up going?”
“Why would I? I wouldn’t be Su Yu anymore if I went. Holy crap, to tell you to the truth, I get nauseous just looking at her face. She’s the fakest, b!tchiest woman I had ever met in my entire life.”
It seemed like Grandpa Su still took Su Yu’s feelings into account…
Huo Mian looked down and thought for a few seconds before replying, “She’s not good enough for you.”
In Huo Mian’s opinion, Su Yu was a good guy if one could overlook his bad temper at times, his tendency to throw away money, as well as his arrogance and childishness. He had good morals, was from a good family, and most importantly, he was incredibly handsome. A woman like Song Yishi really wasn’t good enough for a high-quality man like him.
“Hey, I’ve known you for a long time now, and that’s my favorite sentence out of you!” Su Yu took out the toothpick in his mouth and sat down, legs crossed, on the bench in the hall.
He always felt abnormally happy whenever he got to spend time with Huo Mian and often selfishly wished that time could pass a little slower when they were together…
“I was telling the truth, okay?” Huo Mian smiled as she looked at Su Yu.
“That old man… is probably going to stop setting me up now. He’s already arranged twenty women for me to meet over the past week, but I didn’t like any of them. I think he’s given up on me…” Su Yu muttered to himself and to Huo Mian.
Feeling guilty, Huo Mian looked down. “I’m sure you’ll meet a great woman one day.”
Su Yu smiled bitterly. “I met her already.”
Huo Mian’s body froze for a second, and she fell silent.
Just then, the door to one of the private rooms opened and Jian Tong, wearing a white, skin-tight evening gown, walked out. She looked surprised to see Su Yu and Huo Mian out there, but quickly formed a smile on her face and said gently, “President Su, the others are asking you to play games with them.”
“I’ll be right there.” Su Yu nodded, and Huo Mian immediately looked up at him. “We should both head back now.”
Then, Huo Mian turned around and returned to her private room; Su Yu quietly watched her walk in before finally leaving.
“Hey, what’s your name?”
Jiang Ye appeared out of nowhere as soon as Huo Mian sat down. This time, he decided to sit right next to her, so she couldn’t run away.
“Huo Mian,” she replied calmly, and Jiang Ye frowned; he swore he had heard of that name before, “Huo, Mian? Your name sounds really familiar…”
