Lan Yu’s voice was quite hoarse as if it had been treated with sandpaper, rough and horrible.
Mu Qing and Zheng Jing got startled by her voice. A similar thought emerged in their brain at the same time: an angel with a demon’s voice!
Lan Yu had put on makeup today but her pale face couldn’t be covered by the cosmetics.
Mu Qing felt that if she removed her makeup, she would resemble a fierce ghost.
She sat there quietly and gave out the air of a lady from a family. But all was ruined the moment she talked.
No wonder she spoke less. Even when she was taken advantage of Mu Qing, she had turned to Ji Bo in a mute appeal.
Jing Yichen had no reaction towards Lan Yu’s horrible voice and showed no emotions when she spoke to him. He behaved as if she had not been addressing him. Instead, he looked at Ji Bo coldly, meaning that he should explain Lan Yu’s identity to him.
He ignored Lan Yu and apparently, he didn’t think that she was good enough to talk to him.
After being irritated for a few seconds, Ji Bo turned to Mu Qing and Zheng Jing. “This is my fiancée, Lan Yu. She is here because she will be involved with the financial side of Family Ji’s Enterprise in the future.”
Mu Qing was dressed in a formal suit. The white shirt was tailor made and the black suit was hand stitched. He had worn a light grey tie with a diamond pincer. His hair had been pushed back in the latest style.
Mu Qing looked elegant and sunny. He didn’t look like a director of a hospital but an extremely good-looking superstar.
Lan Yu stared at him, enchanted by his looks.
Mu Qing got a bit surprised. He directed his wonderful smile towards her, one that he had been practicing for more than ten years just to impress girls. It worked on all women aged from eight to eighty, apart from Zhao Anan.
Of course, even Zhao Anan, the tomboy was fascinated by his smile, except that Mu Qing didn’t know about it.
Lan Yu who had been calm till now, panicked at the sight of his smile. She flushed a little.
Mu Qing was very satisfied by how she reacted.
Apparently, not every woman liked Jing Yichen.
He was cold and so far away from the world. He was not suitable to live with. Only Shangguan Ning was gentle enough to tolerate him, all the other women would be frozen to death by his personality.

Lan Yu, blushed when Mu Qing shook her hands. Her bashfulness almost pissed Ji Bo off.
Ji Bo moved Mu Qing’s hands away roughly and bellowed, “What are you thinking, Mu Qing? Lan Yu is my fiancée and you have your own. How dare you flirt with her?”
Ji Bo felt that today must be his unlucky day, when he had to be played around by Jing Yichen and then even by Mu Qing. Was Zheng Jing going to toy with him too?
Mu Qing dared to start an affair with his fiancée right in front of him?
Although Lan Yu and he were not a real couple, yet she was Ji Bo’s fiancée publicly. Anyone who wanted to have an affair with her should do that when he was not around.
Mu Qing didn’t sound apologetic when he said, “Ah? Oh I am sorry, what I mean is that Ms. Lan seems sick and I can’t help feeling sorry for her. I don’t want to rob you of your woman, I have way too many women chasing after me already. It is not easy for you to get a woman after so many years, anyway.”
He really didn’t want to touch Lan Yu, honestly. That woman didn’t give him a good feeling. She looked fierce and evil. She creeped him out.
But the mission Jing Yichen had given him was to get close with this woman, so he had to do whatever it took. What he could do was to wash his hands hundreds of times or sterilize them to get them clean, later.
Ji Bo was so pissed with Mu Qing’s attitude.
Good that Lan Yu was not his real fiancée, otherwise he would not be able to get out of the teahouse and die out of anger because of those men.
Mu Qing felt satisfied at the sight of the irritated Ji Bo. He continued to act according to Jing Yichen’s instructions. “Yu, you are not from A City, are you? I have met all the beautiful girls from A City, but I can’t seem to locate you even in the deepest corner of my memory. I couldn’t possibly have forgotten you, if I had once met such a gentle and pretty girl.”
Jing Yichen had not written such erotic lines for him. Mu Qing was doing this spontaneously. The original line was no more than a single sentence “You are not from A City, are you?”even “Yu” had not been included.
A few seconds later, Lan Yu turned normal.
Her face was pale and her lips looked bloodless as well. Her eyes were dark and hollow, full of coldness. She was like a famished wolf in the wildness that wanted to swallow everyone present.
She became cautious because of what Mu Qing said. But she had already come up with an answer to this kind of interrogation. She feared nothing.
Lan Yu said with a hoarse voice as she stared at Mu Qing, “I am from A City, living in the outskirts. Family Lan is just a small family and it is quite normal that you hadn’t met me till now.”
Mu Qing truly wanted to clean up his ears after hearing her voice. Listening to her was a kind of torment.
But he had no choice but to lead her on.
“Lan is not a common family name. What does your family do? How did you get to know a wealthy master of Ji Bo? You have accomplished so much already.”
“My family is into wholesale of small commodities. I got to know my fiancé unexpectedly, just as I got to know you.”
That didn’t sound right. She sounded as if she held a deep affection for Mu Qing.
