This proved the theory that fire profound immortals were the only ones who could craft nine sun quartz. However, they didn’t churn them out like a factory.
Crafting a nine sun quartz was exhausting work, even for fire profound immortals. The alchemist’s cultivation level and familiarity with the crafting process influenced the outcome too.
Long story short, it would take at least seven days for Inferno Monk to craft a single nine sun quartz.
These seven days would require significant effort on his end. It took Inferno Monk roughly ten years to complete the one hundred and eight nine sun quartz Buddha beads.
After all, he had other things to do besides crafting the nine sun quartz. Even then, ten years was on the faster side of things. Some fire profound immortals needed up to thirty years to complete a single necklace.
That alone contributed to most of the nine sun quartz’s worth.
One bead might not be worth mentioning, but an entire necklace was priceless.
Right now, Lin Jin had two of these priceless Buddha beads.
Both were gifted to him by Inferno Monk.
Aside from the necklaces, he also received a bracelet, where each nine sun quartz was the size of a dragon’s eye. These beads glowed brilliantly like crimson metal beads.
The nine sun quartz also varied in grade and these larger beads were clearly of higher quality. One could only produce them if one were lucky.
Inferno Monk wasn’t that much of a fool to give Lin Jin all the nine sun quartz in his possession. More than two hundred of them was already enough as he had to keep some for himself.
If he came across formidable enemies like Yan Shenjun, Inferno Monk would have to use the nine sun quartz to strengthen his spells. Even if he couldn’t win the battle, the nine sun quartz was essential in making an effective retreat.
A fee was required every time he performed the Inferno Sprint, and that would be a hundred and eight nine sun quartz. Even if Inferno Monk had a sizeable reserve of nine sun quartz, they would deplete in no time if he kept using the spell recklessly.
“I plan to go into seclusion after this to craft more nine sun quartz. It’s too chaotic out there,” said Inferno Monk helplessly.
Lin Jin agreed with his opinion.
If he knew an escape spell as spectacular as the Inferno Sprint, Lin Jin would put it to great use. He probably wouldn’t even leave the house if he didn’t have three sets of Buddha beads with him.
Now, what’s left were the thirty blazing pills, which Lin Jin requested Xiang Yun to produce. She carried her stash of raw materials, and after pooling them together with what Inferno Monk had in his cave, they could craft roughly ten blazing pills.
Although this was still far from the amount required, now wasn’t the time to be picky. Ten pills were good enough. Together with the leftovers Lin Jin had from before, he was now halfway toward his goal.
Three days later…
As expected of an immortal alchemist, Xiang Yun’s pelletization skills were remarkable. In just three days, she finished crafting all ten blazing pills.
Inferno Monk previously mentioned that other immortal alchemists might take three days to craft one blazing pill, so the rate at which Xiang Yun pumped out these pills was phenomenal.
Lin Jin knew he had struck a goldmine by choosing to bring Xiang Yun out of Yan Shenjun’s cave.
Next up, Lin Jin planned to contact the Mystery Dao Sect and the Immortal Cloud Sect. He wanted to notify them of his escape, to ease their worry, and to thank them for their efforts. What’s more, for Xiang Yun to continue crafting blazing pills for him, he had to find an alternate source of materials.
Both these sects were well-established, and if they were to pool their resources, Lin Jin shouldn’t have an issue with gathering the remaining ingredients required by the museum.
However, what happened next forced Lin Jin to change his plans.
Shortly after Xiang Yun completed crafting the ten blazing pills and while Lin Jin was thinking about his plan, Inferno Monk emerged with a grim look on his face.
Confused, Lin Jin and Xiang Yun inquired about the situation.
“We have intruders!” replied Inferno Monk.
This intruder was most probably Yan Shenjun.
Sure enough, not long after Inferno Monk emerged, Yan Shenjun’s voice reverberated from outside.
“Venerable Inferno, Mr. Lin, I do not plan to pick up where we left off. Instead, I am here to make a request, and I would like to offer peace.”
His voice was imbued with mana, so even inside the cave which was fortified with various restriction spells, they heard him loud and clear.
Xiang Yun’s face turned pale the moment she heard Yan Shenjun’s voice.
To her, Yan Shenjun was much too frightening. The man was practically invincible. Back then, Yan Shenjun had single-handedly destroyed the Beiqi Pill Sect. No, he destroyed many other immortal sects too. That was how he gained his immortal servants.
Many immortals have lost their lives to him.
In Xiang Yun’s eyes, he was the devil.
Upon hearing his voice and realizing he had found them, Xiang Yun’s fear was triggered instinctively. However, that feeling turned into frustration and hatred.
She wanted revenge.
Her desire for vengeance began centuries ago, from the day Yan Shenjun destroyed her sect. It had since been rooted deeply in Xiang Yun’s heart and never diminished over the years. Instead, it grew even stronger.
For the sake of revenge and killing Yan Shenjun, Xiang Yun was willing to do anything.
Lin Jin and Xiang Yun had spent the past few days in each other’s company. Although she was an immortal, and he was a mortal, their bond formed so quickly that they could now call each other good friends.
Noticing Xiang Yun’s hostility, Lin Jin reminded her, “Yan Shenjun is still as powerful as ever. Now is not time for revenge yet.”
Hearing this, Xiang Yun suppressed her desire to kill.
She would listen to Lin Jin. While Inferno Monk was the strongest member of their party, he almost died in Yan Shenjun’s hands a while ago.
How many days had passed since? To expect Inferno Monk to surpass Yan Shenjun and was asking for the impossible.
Even with her and Lin Jin combined, it wouldn’t make a difference.
Xiang Yun was only a half immortal who wasn’t adept at offensive skills; her assistance on the battlefield would be limited. Then, there was Lin Jin.
Based on her observation over the past few days, although Lin Jin was a mere mortal, his offensive ability was above hers.
He was even stronger than most half immortals
Lin Jin had already explained his plan to defeat Yan Shenjun to Xiang Yun. They only stood a chance if they cooperated with the Mystery Dao Sect’s Miao Yan Zhenren or the Immortal Cloud Sect’s Xuan Yue Zhenren.
Otherwise, they would just be foolishly rushing into the jaws of death.
