1484 The Crown Prince’s Arrival.
Gu Chaoyan reached out for the letter and asked the maid, who was from the court. To be more accurate, she was a messenger arranged by the King for her, but Gu Chaoyan did not drive them away. Instead, she had her by her side.
They could serve her in all manners, and Sword One would keep her closer company.
“Elder Miss, it is a letter from Lord Huai’s Mansion, given by Lord Huai. There was nothing more than this. The messenger was gone.” The maid said calmly.
Gu Chaoyan nodded.
She headed towards the room not asking anything else.
There were six maids from the court serving her. She picked two to serve her by her side. She did not know about the maids’ names, and she never asked, because she would not accept them as her trusted maids.
The six maids tried their best to work hard.
Gu Chaoyan, however, let them serve her without mentioning a thing about names.
The maids were quiet when she was in the study. They started to clean the room so that Sword One could be alone with her.
Gu Chaoyan removed the letter from the room.
The seal of the letter was untouched. It must have not been opened before. However, she did not care if the letter had been read before. She was not afraid of being exposed, after all she decided to keep those maids next to her.
There was only one blank paper in the letter, nothing more.
Gu Chaoyan smiled and then took out a herb from the herbal box and placed it in the letter, sealed it and said, “Sword One.”
“Elder Miss?”
“Let the letter be delivered to Lord Huai’s Mansion,” Gu Chaoyan said as she passed the letter to them.
Sword One nodded and did accordingly.
The maid from the court was startled when she received the letter. She looked very surprised, but she still put away the letter and answered politely, “Okay.”
Then she was off.
Sword One laughed as she went into the chamber.. “They were surprised.”
Gu Chaoyan laughed without saying a thing. Everything was in her control and going according to her plan.
A light sound of door knocking arose outside.
Sword One opened the door and asked. “What is it?”
“Miss. Sword One, Chief Chen has a message for Elder Miss,” the maid said carefully.
Hearing her words, Gu Chaoyan stood up.
She headed outside and sat down in the outer chamber and asked. “What is it?”
She sounded really impatient.
“Old Master told me to tell you that Elder Miss should come to the front yard. He needs you there,” Chen Fu said quietly.
Front yard? What was going on?
“Why?” Gu Chaoyan sounded cold and displeased. She did not like what was being asked of her.
With his head lowered, Chen Fu said with head lowered. “Elder Miss, it is the Crown Prince who is here. He is asking for you, so the Old Master asked me to fetch you. Please get ready and come with me to the front yard.”
Gu Chaoyan’s expression sank, and she said, “I am not meeting the Crown Prince. What does he have to do with me?”
