The meeting lasted for nearly one and a half hours before it was over, and everybody started to leave the room, including Rhea and me.
"I did not expect to see you here," I said to Rhea when we walked outside, all my teammates already went ahead, only Rhea and I remained little behind.
"Me Too, I had thought my progress was fast, but your speed is ever greater than mine." She said with a look of surprise, so her praise I could only smile as I too thought my speed was quite great and there would be very few who would get closer to my progress but now here Rhea, who is only three small levels behind me.
"Why do you join the Death Brigade, with your rate of progress it would not be hard for you to go above the Golden Elite in a few months," I said. Like other rookies, her info is also projected in the centre of the table for everyone to see.
She had a clean record, which means she had entered the Death Brigade on her own. Not only her, of the six rookies that entered the team, but five of them also had a clean record, only a single person is criminal and sent here forcefully.
"To be honest, I had tried for Elite Corps, but a slight performance mark cut me, I would have got selected in next month's assessment, but I did not want to wait for the whole month, so I joined the death brigade," she replied sheepishly.
I couldn't help but shake my hands hearing it, feeling I would have probably done the same if I was in her place.
"Death Brigade is not like Elite Corps, we did not get the same resources as the Elite Corps, and our missions are also considerably harder which make chances of dying greater," I said as I looked at her.
Of all the rookies she is weakest, she is just Five Star Golden Elite, unlike the other four rookies who are Six Star Golden Elite and Seven Star Golden Elite, with her being only Five Star Golden Elite chances of her surviving the mission seemed quite slim.
But it is her choice and it's not like she had a chance to back up now, she will have to do the mission or face serious consequences which very few people are willing to face.
All I can do is give her tips on how to survive during the chaotic fight. I hope she has some powerful Mystic Method or something which would help her survive this mission.
"Don't worry I will not die." she said with confidence, I am surprised seeing her confidence, she likely has some trump card which is relying on to survive.
"Micheal, why are all people acting Cold toward us rookies, except for one person no one talked to us," she said and looked at me accusingly as, during the discussion, I too was silent.
"Hahaha!"
Hearing her question, I couldn't help but laugh, which again made her look at me angrily, "They are not Cold to you, its tradition of the team, I have also gone through it."
"You just have to complete the first mission, and everyone will become friendly to you," I said. This tradition had a deep meaning. The first mission is the hardest for the rookies, and it is also where they lose their lives the most.
So the team members did not get friendly with rookies, so if they die, they will be able to save themselves some pain.
"Rookie, are you making us late for the Mission?" we had just come out of the Guild when we heard the shout of Charles when I looked toward him, I saw him and Tom waiting with other rookies beside a big hovercar.
"Stay Safe," I said to Rhea as she walked toward Charles, soon she reached and sat in the car with rest. Seeing the car speeding up, I sighed and hoped when I met her next time, she would be alive.
As the car disappeared from my view, I walked toward my apartment with Ashlyn on my shoulder. I have to leave for the Mission tomorrow, and there is no preparation to be made except for detailedly studying info about four stations.
It could be said that I have a lot of free time in my hands, which is why it took me two hours to reach my apartment instead of half an hour. We did nothing, we just walked slowly and ate whatever we liked, by the time we reached the apartment, our stomachs were quite bloated.
As I entered my apartment, I laid on the couch comfortably and started reading about the four stations. There is not much info about The Stations except for their location, but there is plenty about the geography they are in.
It is very important to study the geography of the place where the mission is, it helps one blend in, and one also could make the preparation before.
Take it the first Station I have to collect intelligence on, it is in the rainforest, and according to the weather forecast that had been provided, when I reach there, I would have to face the heavy rain.
For me, heavy rain is good and bad; it helps me hide better and also will help me hide my tracks, but due to it, I will be easily discovered by Grimm Monsters at closest distance, and Ashlyn will have difficulties flying in such weather.
Time passed as I continued, and soon evening had come, I stopped reading and started with my regular evening chores, cooking, eating, and training. By the time I finished with them, three and a half hours had already been passed.
I again read for two hours before closing the book as I had a wake up early tomorrow.
When I woke up the next morning, I quickly ate and trained before leaving for the Guild. When I reached the Guild, the first thing I did was to collect the toys that I will need for the mission before walking toward the airport.
Soon I reached Section 1, which is one of Section that is above ground and waited for Airship to arrive. The airship is coming from Warzone 09 and picked me and others for their missions and sent us to the different Hidden Camps.
Soon the Airship had arrived, but it did not land. It stayed floating in the sky, and we had to fly toward it.
I flew toward the airship with rest and passed through the big door that had already been waiting for us. This ship is just like the one we went for our mission to exterminate the mission, both externally and internally.
Ting!
As I entered the ship, I got a message from the ship about the pod that I had been assigned, which is quite far back from the airship. When I moved through the pods, I found most of them were already occupied.
I don't know why but I expected it to be unoccupied, but it is mostly occupied, one my way back, I had less than ten pods unoccupied in this honeycomb-like pod interior.
A minute after I entered my pod, the airship shot up in the sky while I watched the city down till Airship flew over the city before I started reading mission material.
