The lockup had reverted to peace and quiet when the door opened.
Huo Yao sat in the chair lazily, completely unscathed.
Team Leader Liao had started out being aggressive and ruthless to Huo Yao, but ended up shrinking into the corner frightenedly with his limbs bound by the whip. Only his face was ghastly pale while the rest of his body seemed unharmed.
Everyone expected to witness a bloody fight when the door opened, so they could not help feeling astonished looking at the tableau in front of them.
After the brief surprise, Min Yu came over. His coat was open and it left a cool gust of wind in its wake as he entered the lockup. He pulled Huo Yao up from the chair and checked her thoroughly. He finally closed his eyes briefly when he confirmed she was unharmed. However, it was not enough to make the murderous look in his eyes disappear.
The lock-up was no ordinary interrogation room. Only members of extreme organizations, foreign spies, and traitors would have the chance to get thrown in here. After getting thrown in this lockup, all of them ended up suffering the same fate of getting skinned alive and experiencing a life worse than death.
“I’m sorry for letting this happen to you.” Min Yu looked at Huo Yao and spoke in an incredibly husky voice. There was something different about his tone.
Huo Yao smiled as she shook her head. “It’s okay. He simply invited me in for a chat.”
Min Yu’s eyes turned dark. He raised his hand to touch her head.
He turned and walked towards Team Leader Liao who was standing in the corner. In an instant, he tightened his hand over Team Leader Liao’s neck and lifted him altogether. He pinned him against the wall hard and looked at him with utter coldness in his eyes. “How dare you touch her?”
Since Team Leader Liao’s limbs were tied, it was impossible for him to retaliate. Also, Min Yu was squeezing his throat hard making it impossible for him to say a word. His eyes were filled with terror as Min Yu tightened his grip on his throat. It felt as though his neck was about to snap any moment.
Thoughts of death promptly filled his mind.
After the captain finally snapped out of his surprise, he walked over hurriedly. “Young… Young Master Min, there must be some mistake. Since your friend is perfectly fine, can you just let Team Leader Liao off this time?”
Min Yu smiled. He looked sideways at the law enforcement captain. “A misunderstanding? Did you throw her into lockup because of a misunderstanding?”
Cold sweat broke out on the captain’s back. It was his superior’s idea, but she was unexpectedly so important to Min Yu that he was ready to kill Liao Jianzong if that was what it took to save her.
“Well… Team Leader Liao was just following orders. Moreover, wouldn’t you have trouble answering for it if something happened to him?”
Yang Yi hurriedly walked over. “Yu, don’t be angry. Just focus on getting Miss Huo out of here.”
Although the captain was reluctant about releasing her, it was impossible for him to keep her. If Min Yu decided to come after him, it would not be worth it.
Moreover, it might not be a bad idea if Min Yu took Huo Yao from them by force. After all, they were simply doing their jobs and it was completely unjustifiable for Min Yu to barge in and do this.
Min Yu looked at Team Leader Liao coldly and finally let go of him. In an instant, he tightened his grip on Team Leader Liao once more and broke Team Leader Liao’s arms.
An excruciating scream could instantly be heard in the room.
Huo Yao rubbed her forehead.
She felt bad for him.
The captain squeezed his fists without daring to make a peep.
After getting attacked twice, Team Leader Liao’s arms hung from the sides of his body in a contorted manner. He slumped onto the ground like a deflated ball. He disregarded the agony he was in and stumbled behind the captain out of the place, fearing that he might get attacked once again.
This man and the woman were simply terrifying.
Team Leader Liao’s subordinate did not dare to help him undo the whip after seeing this and simply walked up beside him quietly.
He glanced in Huo Yao’s direction and lowered his head.
