Yang Yi had been standing in the corridor for less than a minute when someone dressed in a special uniform came walking over.
Yang Yi frowned. His hands were in his pant pockets and he tightened his fists slightly.
After the group of people came over, the man in the lead looked at Yang Yi with an even more serious expression on his face. “Where is she?”
“Are you sure this is a good idea?” Yang Yi glanced at the six elite soldiers standing behind the man.
“For the sake of the safety of Young Master Min’s friend, this is just protocol. When it is over, we will naturally release her.” The man in the lead spoke mechanically without the slightest warmth in his voice.
“She doesn’t need your protection.” Yang Yi pursed his lips.
From the moment they uncovered the location of the IP address, he already saw this coming.
Initially, he thought fixing the internet was a minor issue, but other implications unexpectedly emerged. If he knew this would happen, he would never have called his boss and got Miss Huo to come over.
“Mr. Yang, I have direct orders. Please hand over Young Master Min’s friend.” The man’s attitude might not have seemed bad, but it was certainly bad news. He turned his head sideways slightly and signaled his subordinates behind him.
The moment his subordinates got his cue, five men stepped forward and surrounded Yang Yi while one of them headed to the bathroom.
“Team Leader Liao, I suggest you keep your hands off Young Master Min’s friend.” Yang Yi glared at the men coldly. They certainly thought highly of him by sending five men.
Team Leader Liao suddenly smiled as he got to business. “We mean no harm. Since Young Master Min’s friend is now involved in classified matters, we have to do this. You know how things work here. When it comes to matters of national security, the same protocol applies even to Director Min and Young Master Min. I am merely following orders.”
Yang Yi looked annoyed. Even though they knew Min Yu was the one who brought Huo Yao to the Ministry of National Security, it did not stop them from wanting to touch her. These people certainly jumped at every opportunity they had.
After Huo Yao was done using the bathroom, she encountered someone dressed in a special uniform on her way out. She narrowed her eyes on seeing him before walking out of the bathroom unhurriedly.
The man looked at Huo Yao for a second. “Are you Young Master Min’s friend?”
They did not know Huo Yao’s name and simply knew Yang Yi had shown Min Yu’s friend to the bathroom.
“Nope,” answered Huo Yao mildly.
Since he had to ask, she refused to admit she was Huo Yao.
The man frowned. He glanced at Huo Yao’s chest and noticed she was not wearing a name tag. All the employees had to wear name tags, so it was clear Huo Yao was deliberately denying it.
He paused before he said, “Please come with us.” He gestured for Huo Yao to follow him.
“Who are you?” Huo Yao did not resist and asked mildly as she walked. She seemed completely unperturbed by his presence.
The man glanced at Huo Yao in surprise. However, he did not answer her since it was not up to him to divulge his identity.
Huo Yao did not insist on asking when the man refused to respond. After walking around the corner in the corridor, she could see Yang Yi surrounded by men from a distance. It seemed as though they had encountered a conflict and Yang Yi was about to fight back.
Huo Yao went over and called out to Yang Yi. He finally eased up slightly. He looked at Huo Yao and clearly felt bad before putting down his hands.
Yang Yi paused before he explained.. “They are the Ministry of National Security’s law enforcers.”
