Dai Jie and the others failed to notice the look on Huo Yao’s face. Even though they were going through the documents, they were clearly distracted.
Wang Jing closed the research proposal and raised her head to look at Tang Jun and Dai Jie. “Do you think Mr. Liu will succeed in bringing back the research funds?”
It was no secret that Bioinformatics funding had been taken away. If they wanted to work on a new project, they would need a lot of money just to upgrade their equipment, let alone conduct long term research.
Tang Jun was no longer in the mood to continue reading the research proposal. He had burst with joy when he finally heard that they could conduct some research, but his enthusiasm froze the moment they brought up their lack of funds. He sighed and said, “I think the chances are slim.”
Dai Jie pursed his lips and said firmly, “We should have some faith in Mr. Liu. I am sure he will be able to get funding for the research project.”
“I certainly hope so.” Wang Jing smiled sadly. If they were able to conduct research, they would have a better resume.
Sadly, if the division was capable of making a name for itself, it would have done so ages ago. Would they have ended up getting their funding taken from them?
Wang Jing shook her head. She lowered her head and continued reading the research proposal without speaking any further.
After quietly listening to their conversation, Huo Yao finally asked out of the blue. “What research team are you talking about?”
The moment she finished her sentence, the three of them raised their heads and looked at her in astonishment.
Dai Jie was the first one to react. His cheeks twitched as he asked her. “Don’t you know about the research team? That’s us. Didn’t Mr. Liu tell you about it?”
Huo Yao shook her head.
The moment she had arrived, the teacher started to introduce everyone to her and did not mention the research team at all. He naturally did not ask her about joining the research team either.
Wang Jing, Tang Jun, and Dai Jie looked at each other. They did not expect Huo Yao to get dragged over by Liu Qian even though she knew nothing about the research team.
This was simply…
Dai Jie cleared his throat and said, “From the looks of it, you must be very talented.”
Other than pure talent, he could not come up with any other reason for this.
“What level is your computing?” asked Tang Jun.
Computing was graded between levels one to four with the fourth level being the highest.
Since it was an AL research project, its team members had to be very good at computing with a minimum requirement of level two computing skills.
Tang Jun had recently passed the test and was now level three with his computing.
Wang Jing and Dai Jie only passed the test today to reach level three.
The two of them were equally curious when Tang Jun asked about Huo Yao’s computing skills.
Huo Yao kept her head lowered when they looked at her. She replied candidly. “I don’t know either. I never got myself tested.”
The three of them went speechless.
“It’s okay. Computing isn’t as important as it sounds,” said Dai Jie, breaking the silence awkwardly.
Even though Liu Qian had mentioned that Huo Yao was very good at Bioinformatics, he might not have been referring to computing alone.
Tang Jun nodded and chimed in. “That’s right. The three of us can help you.”
Wang Jing patted Huo Yao on the shoulder like a concerned senior. “If you have any questions, feel free to ask me. I am happy to help.”
Everyone suddenly comforted Huo Yao leaving her absolutely bewildered.
Had they misunderstood or something?
Huo Yao touched her nose. She simply nodded as everyone looked at her in concern.
Although she did not know the reason for this misunderstanding, she did not explain herself.
Everyone stopped asking Huo Yao questions and turned their attention to the research proposal.
Liu Qian came back from Qi Hui’s office 30 minutes later..
