Huo Yao did not know what Prof Rong was thinking and she simply nodded. Suddenly, she wanted to save Bioinformatics and change everyone’s opinion about this unpopular course.
Since no one from the division had made any scientific contribution in over a decade, she could not resist the challenge.
Rong Jun contemplated before he added. “Of course, you have to work hard on Physics as well.”
He handed Huo Yao a tailor-made study plan.
“Take it back and have a look at it. Although I said you don’t have to attend classes at the school of Engineering Physics, you have to learn everything.”
Huo Yao took the study plan and flipped through the first two pages. After seeing the research topics she had to handle, she acknowledged without even frowning. “Sure.”
Other than language, Huo Yao did not have any trouble with any of the Science subjects.
Rong Jun saw Huo Yao agreeing without even batting an eyelid. He could not help feeling guilty. “Do you have any problems with my arrangements?”
After all, she was taking Physics as a second major, but the plan he had laid out for her was harder than that of a full Physics major.
Huo Yao did not bother looking at it again and simply said, “It’s fine.”
Rong Jun knew she was not the patronizing sort and felt relieved to hear her answer. “Then remember to collect your books from Wu Yue in the afternoon before you go home.”
“Sure.” Huo Yao nodded.
The phone on the table rang, so Rong Jun stood up and said, “In any case, come over and ask if you have any problems. You can text me if you like.”
The moment he finished his sentence, he went up to the desk to answer the phone.
Huo Yao did not hold him up and left the office.

After lunch, Zhao Lian hurried back to the office to work.
Qi Hui came over with an application form, looking for him. It was for Genetic Engineering research and the experiment required a lot of funding.
Zhao Lian frowned when he saw the amount of funding Qi Hui was asking for. “The funds for this quarter haven’t been assigned to us yet. We don’t have that much money left in our fund reserves either.”
Qi Hui nodded. He had already anticipated this problem and shared his thoughts with him. “I recall that Bioinformatics didn’t conduct any major research in the past two years. If we use their funding first, we won’t have to touch the reserve.”
Qi Hui paused before he continued. “I asked the accountant from Bioinformatics. They still have over one million worth of funds. If we use their funds, our research about Genetic Mutation can probably go on as per normal until the government gives us the funding.”
Zhao Lian raised his head and looked at Qi Hui. “I think this is a bad idea. I can’t do that.”
Bioinformatics did not have any breakthrough research recently, but they did not get as much funding as the other divisions anyways.
The division did not have much funding to begin with. If he took the meager amount of funds it had and gave it to another division, it would be as good as stepping on the dignity of the Bioinformatics division.
Qi Hui knew Zhao Lian would not agree to it, so he took out the progress report for the experiment.
“We have researched Genetic Mutation for two years and have finally made headway. If we lose the funding at a critical time like this, all our efforts would be wasted.”
