Huo Tingrui glanced at his father and felt that he severely lacked a sense of urgency. He pressed his forehead immediately and stopped trying to brainwash his little sister. “Dad, I think we need to have a father and son talk…”
He spoke and walked over to Huo Jinyan.
Huo Jinyan glanced at him and waved his hand. “I have nothing to say to you.”
Even if there was any talking to be done, Huo Jinyan would rather do it with his fists.
Huo Tingrui was dumbstruck.
His dear baby girl was going to get abducted by Min Yu. Why did he not get it?
Huo Jinyan ignored Huo Tingrui and turned to enter the kitchen again.
After Huo Yao finished her milk, she tossed the empty box into the trash can with utmost accuracy. She looked absolutely cool and resembled a mobster when she did it.
Huo Tingrui went speechless when he turned around and saw this.
Why did she have the same aura as Uncle Changfeng and his ruffians?
Huo Tingrui shook his head and went into denial mode. Although his little sister could get naughty sometimes, she was quite a good person.
The last thing he wanted happened right away. Huo Tingrui’s phone rang in his pocket. He pulled it out and saw Uncle Changfeng’s name appearing on the caller ID. His hand trembled and he nearly dropped the phone on the ground.
For a long time, he did not answer the call. Huo Jinyan saw him like this when he came out of the kitchen, so he asked quizzically. “Why aren’t you picking up the call?”
Huo Tingrui raised his head, looked at his father, and raised his phone for him to see. “…It’s Uncle Changfeng.”
Huo Jinyan became worried. He glanced at his daughter sitting at the dining table before he waved his hand. “Take the call outside.”
Huo Tingrui acknowledged him before heading out to the garden.
Huo Yao raised her brow slightly as she looked at her second older brother when she heard them talking about Uncle Changfeng yet again.
Why were they acting so mysterious?
By the time Huo Tingrui made it into the garden, the call had already ended. He called back and someone answered in a matter of seconds.
He said politely, “Hi, Uncle Changfeng. Did you call?”
Huo Changfeng laughed before he said, “Uh huh. Isn’t it Miss Huo’s birthday today? I got her a little something, so I am going to drive over to give it to her.”
Huo Tingrui was stunned. “Huh. Are you coming over Uncle Changfeng?”
“That’s right. It’s about time I introduce myself to Miss Huo officially.” Huo Changfeng thought about Master Jinfeng’s ailment. Master Jinfeng had hardly experienced any relapses in the past six months and it was all thanks to Huo Yao’s medicine.
Huo Tingrui pressed his temples. Now that Uncle Changfeng suddenly asked to see his little sister, he must be up to something. He contemplated for a couple of seconds and tried making an excuse. “We have a guest today. Why don’t you swing by some other time?”
Although Huo Changfeng did not see Huo Tingrui much, he knew Huo Tingrui’s personality well.
He said calmly, “I won’t get in the way. I just want to personally give Miss Huo the present and say a few words.”
Huo Changfeng was undoubtedly old and worldly-wise. Huo Tingrui cleared his throat and said awkwardly, “Why don’t you talk to Dad about this?”
Huo Changfeng went quiet. “I wanted to talk to your father, but he didn’t answer the phone.”
Huo Tingrui was flabbergasted.
Did this mean his father had passed the ball to him?
Huo Tingrui raised his head and saw his father happily chatting with his little sister through the window.
He said into the phone, “Uncle Changfeng, hang on. Let me get my father to talk to you.”
The moment he finished his sentence, he walked into the house and went up to his father, and handed him the phone. “Dad, Uncle Changfeng wants to talk to you.”
Huo Jinyan went quiet when he saw the ongoing call on the phone screen.
His son was so stupid.
