Goofy was now over two months old, and was a lot fatter than he used to be. He was about 10 kilograms heavier than a small-sized dog.
After hearing what his father said, Goofy hurriedly went up to Huo Yao and nuzzled against her legs warmly. He wagged his tail in an affectionate manner.
Huo Yao touched Goofy’s head and raised her brow as she looked at Huo Tingrui. “From the looks of it, you seem to be getting along just swell.”
Huo Tingrui sighed in his heart. No one knew the agony he was in after being forced to take in the dog. “Good luck! You are going to rank first.”
“Uh huh.” Huo Yao nodded her head confidently.
Huo Yanxi was standing by the side where he clenched his fists slightly before he stepped forward and said, “Good luck with your exams.”
Huo Yao pursed her lips as she looked at Huo Yanxi and nodded. “Thanks.”
Huo Yanxi smiled before he finally loosened his grip.
“Enough already. It is time for us to go,” said Song Ning hurriedly after checking the time and taking her purse.
Huo Jinyan had already driven the car out of the garage.
Before long, Huo Yao arrived at the exam hall with her parents. She did not get assigned to No.1 Middle School. Instead, she was taking her exam at 13th Middle School.
Yi Lianfan was also assigned to take his exam at 13th Middle School.
The two of them bumped into each other at the school gate.
“You seem pretty well prepared,” said Huo Yao as she raised her brow and looked at Yi Lianfan.
Yi Lianfan did not try to be modest this time and replied. “I will be right behind you.”
There was no way he could come first in the national college entrance exam, but he was confident about ranking second.
Huo Yao nodded. “Good luck.”
“Good luck.” Yi Lianfan smiled.
Although they had guaranteed placement for Tsing University, they took the exam very seriously and wanted to see how well they had done after studying for three years.
Huo Yao entered the exam hall at 8:45 am. She was assigned to the third row from behind and did not know anyone else in the exam hall.
At 9:00 AM sharp, the invigilator came in with the exam papers in a sealed envelope and opened the envelope in front of everyone. He said a few words before handing the paper down. The entire paper consisted of 150 minutes.
Huo Yao roughly went through all the questions as usual after getting the paper. Other than the composition, the comprehension section was considerably easy.
She picked up her pen to write her name on the test paper and answer sheet before starting to answer each question.
Since she had focused on revising her languages, she had improved by leaps and bounds during the last month. She was able to answer almost any question and had kept her average scores at around 145 marks.
After spending 40 minutes completing the questions, Huo Yao checked them before reading the last question.
The last question was a little different this year and was mainly about Chinese classics.
Classics were all about Chinese philosophers and Chinese studies. It was a test to see how well she knew Chinese history and culture. However, it was a very open-ended question.
The question could be considered tricky and otherwise. No matter how she saw it, it was hard.
Huo Yao glanced at the question thrice before she lowered her head briefly and came up with her answer.
Questions about the classics were hard for students who weren’t very well-read. Since she grew up reading the classics, it was easy as pie for her.
After coming up with an outline, she quickly picked up her pen and worked on it.
