Meng Ying had just sent her a text message with a link.
Huo Yao raised her brow and tapped on the link and it quickly brought her to a post on the school forum.
It came with some description and a video clip of this speech that took place this afternoon.
“What are you watching?” Huo Xiang was sitting beside her when he heard the sound coming from her phone, so he turned to take a look curiously.
“It’s a recording of a speech from school.” Huo Yao watched Yi Feiyu’s speech as she said, “He is from Tsing University.”
A look of admiration emerged on Huo Xiang’s face when he heard that he was from Tsing University. Even though he had decent grades when he was at school, he wasn’t good enough to get in.
“Did your school invite someone from Tsing University to give a speech?” asked Huo Tingrui as he quietly kicked the clingy dog aside.
“Uh huh. To help relieve our exam stress,” said Huo Yao and nodded.
Huo Tingrui looked at her and seemed accustomed to the way she spoke. He asked. “Did any of your peers give a speech?”
“Uh huh.” Huo Yao raised her brow and sat up straight lazily with her legs crossed.
Huo Tingrui instantly figured it out. “Was it you?”
“Uh huh.” Huo Yao said modestly, “It wasn’t anything fancy.”
“Do you have the link? I want to watch it too.” Huo Tingrui took out his phone.
“Yup. I will send it to you.” Huo Yao copied the link and sent it to him.
Huo Xiang also wanted the link as well.
Huo Yao said, “I am the last one to speak…”
The three of them curled up on the couch to watch it on their phones. Huo Yanxi also wanted to ask for the link to watch the speech. But ever since the National Quiz Contest when he cast doubt on Huo Yao, he did not have the cheek to talk to her.
Huo Yanxi clenched his fists slightly before taking out his phone and tapping on his little sister’s dialog box.
The last conversation they had was on the Chinese New Year when she thanked him for the red packet he sent her.
He composed a message on the dialog box: [Can you send me the link too?]
Even though it was just a short message, it took him five minutes to come up with it before he nervously clicked on the send button.
Huo Yao raised her head and glanced at Huo Yanxi when she received a text message from him. She saw him looking at his phone with his head lowered. She pondered for a second and then tapped on her messaging application.
She quickly forwarded the link to Huo Yanxi before she went back to watching the video.
Huo Yanxi could detect Huo Yao glancing at him, so he did not dare to raise his head. He felt delighted when he finally received the link.
Huo Yanxi inhaled deeply. He did not tap on the link right away. Instead, he stood up and told everyone that he was going to bed before heading upstairs.
After going back to his room, Huo Yanxi tapped on the link and watched the video carefully.
He watched every second of it without fast-forwarding until Huo Yao appeared in about 70 minutes. He promptly sat up and straightened the phone.
The young woman in the video did not use any fancy speech. She did not speak with the grandiosity of the other Tsing University alumni. She simply stood on the stage and asked the students about their dreams.
There was innate confidence on her face especially when she told everyone that she wanted to rank first in the national college entrance exam. It was a promise to her peers and it helped motivate everyone. Also, it sounded as though she was saying it matter of factly.
Huo Yanxi could not help feeling emotional after watching the video.
