Lu Xia sat by the roadside with her mind in chaos. It was already 1:00 pm, but she could not find a room and she did not dare to visit her grandmother.
She was afraid that Huo Yulin might do something bad to her.
At this moment, a motorcycle came speeding towards her. Since she was not paying attention, the motorcyclist yanked her designer purse from her shoulder the moment he got close.
Lu Xia stumbled right away. Her luggage was right in front of her, so she tripped on that. Her identification card and bank card were in the purse, and she held the purse tightly without letting go.
The motorcyclist did not expect to fail. After yanking the purse several times, he did not succeed in snatching it. Someone else had also walked over, so the thief gave up out of fear that he might end up caught.
Before long, the motorcycle rode off and disappeared into the street.
The Good Samaritan hurriedly came over to help Lu Xia stand. “Are you okay?”
Lu Xia’s sunglasses had fallen off in the struggle. She was afraid of getting recognized, so she quickly covered her face with her hand. She did not even stop to thank the person before she anxiously lowered her head and looked for her sunglasses.
The Good Samaritan felt a little annoyed when she shoved him aside.
However, he did not take it to heart and quickly said, “A lot of biker gang members commit robbery on this stretch of road. You are making yourself an open target by standing here by yourself.”
He paused before he looked at Lu Xia and asked in concern. “Did he manage to get anything? Do you want to report this to the police?”
The moment Lu Xia heard his suggestion, she promptly reacted strongly as she shook her head and replied in a shrill voice. “No! I don’t want to report this!”
Despite her damaged reputation and loss of fans, she did not want anyone to find out she was in such dire straits that she would appear in a small town like this and get robbed. She might end up becoming a laughingstock online.
She could not allow that to happen.
“I don’t want to report this to the police,” muttered Lu Xia before she clutched her purse tightly to her chest.
She seemed as though she was feeling defensive.
The person’s hand froze in the air with his phone and he looked awkward.
Was he being nosy by helping Lu Xia?
He put away his phone and walked off without saying a word. He decided that it was just a stroke of bad luck to encounter Lu Xia.
Lu Xia lowered her head. She looked at her scraped right palm and sensed the pain in her knee which were clear reminders that she could not stay here anymore.
First, she was denied a room in all the hotels, then she got robbed. If she continued hanging around, she did not know what other accidents might befall her.
Lu Xia trembled at the thought. She disregarded her mission, hailed a cab by the roadside, and told the driver to send her to the airport right away.

At night, Huo Yulin received a text message from Chen Ming confirming that Lu Xia was on the first flight home to City S and heaved a sigh of relief.
No matter why Lu Xia was here, he did not want her around while he and Huo Yao were visiting Old Madam Yang. He did not want Lu Xia to show up and ruin the atmosphere.
After dinner, Huo Yulin did not even have the mood to keep an eye on Min Yu and went back to his room early.
Ever since he encountered Lu Xia in the morning, he was in low spirits. The moment he saw her, he was reminded of the kidnapping.
Huo Yao looked at Huo Yulin thoughtfully from behind as he left. Since he came back with the package, he had been acting weird. Even though he appeared normal on the surface, she detected something different about him.
She spoke to Min Yu briefly before heading upstairs.
