The situation on social media was gradually changing.
Huo Tingrui called his lawyer friends one after another to thank them for their support before standing up to leave the office.
Someone suddenly knocked on Huo Tingrui’s door. Since his door was slightly open, he raised his head and said, “Come in.”
Huo Tingrui thought it was one of his employees. The moment he caught sight of the person at the door, he was stunned. “Brother Yanxi? How did you know I was here?”
“I called Mom to ask for your whereabouts. She said you were doing overtime at the firm today,” replied Huo Yanxi softly.
Huo Tingrui nodded. He walked over to the side and poured a glass of water. “How are you feeling? Is your drinking under control?”
Huo Yanxi took the water. “Uh huh. I haven’t drunk much recently. Things are much better.”
He sat down on the couch and went quiet for a few seconds before saying, “I saw what happened online.”
Huo Tingrui leaned against the couch armrest with a cold look on his face. “All that horseshit about being Fang Chen’s mistress. We were just having lunch with Fang Chen and Fang Ting, but they twisted the facts about the picture. The reporters really have nothing better to do.”
Huo Yanxi narrowed his eyes slightly and suppressed the sour taste in his heart before asking naturally. “Is there anything I can do to help?”
Huo Tingrui waved his hand. “It’s good now. I have already posted a lawyer’s letter online. The news agency that first posted the news has to get punished to the fullest extent of the law. Also, I will get to those people who have slandered Yao. Every single one of them.”
Huo Yanxi tightened his grip on the cup as he listened to his younger brother and acknowledged softly.
He was checking social media on his way here and saw Huo Xiang getting back at the culprits even at the risk of offending his fans.
Also, he saw Huo Tingrui openly defending his little sister’s honor. However, he could only hold his phone helplessly.
“Oh yes. Do Mom and Dad know about what happened online?” asked Huo Tingrui when he recalled Huo Yanxi calling home earlier. Huo Tingrui failed to notice anything amiss with his older brother.
Huo Yanxi pondered before he shook his head. “I don’t think so. Otherwise, Mom would have talked about it when I called earlier.”
Huo Tingrui heaved a sigh of relief. “Great. I was worried they found out. If they did, it would only escalate further.”
Huo Tingrui thought about how much his parents adored Huo Yao. He could totally imagine the terrible things his parents were capable of if they learned of the abuse Huo Yao suffered online.
After all, they refused to even let their biological sons off whenever Huo Yao was involved.
“Uh huh. I didn’t talk about it, so don’t worry. I am sure things will die down in no time,” replied Huo Yanxi.
“I am more worried about the situation at her school. Sigh!. She did not show her face when she joined the program out of fear that it would get in the way of her privacy. I don’t know what will happen now.” Huo Tingrui pressed his forehead worriedly.
He was genuinely concerned since he was Huo Yao’s biological older brother.
After chatting briefly, Huo Yanxi left the law firm before long.
He sat in the car and did not start the engine right away. He sat with his hands on the steering wheel and gazed out of the car window into the distance aimlessly.
After a long time, Huo Yanxi pulled his phone out of his pocket and called his assistant.
