1667 Medicinal Herbs
“I’m busy. I have to go now.” Min Yu hung up the phone the moment he finished his sentence.
Huo Yao felt puzzled.
Was her proud boyfriend asking for trouble?
Huo Yao scratched her head. In all possibility, if she wanted to fight him, she was probably not his match.
Huo Yao sighed. She tapped on her social media and checked out the new posts. Before she knew it, she got to Shangguan Yun’s latest posts.
When she saw the post, she frowned.
At this hour of the day, shouldn’t he be at school?
She paused for a couple of seconds and typed a comment: [Are you playing truant?]
After a few minutes, Huo Yao did not hear back from Shangguan Yun. When she swiped through her social media again, she was unable to see Shangguan Yun’s new posts. To be precise, she was unable to see anything from Shangguan Yun.
He had clearly changed the social media settings to private only.
Huo Yao’s face turned dark.
Did the boy have a death wish?
She pondered and called Chen Ming to ask about Shangguan Yun’s recent situation.
Before she left for Country M, she was afraid someone might do something to Shangguan Yun, so she had asked Cheng Ming to keep an eye on him.
“Joined the entertainment industry?” Huo Yao felt astonished upon hearing Chen Ming’s words.
“Uh huh. He joined a talent show, but I didn’t investigate this part in detail. Ever since you left for Country M, he stopped attending school,” said Chen Ming in all honesty.
“Got it, Uncle Ming. Thank you so much for helping me take care of him during this time.” Huo Yao pressed her brow.
She had already seen this coming. Even if she placed him in school, it was probably not enough to keep an active, curious boy out of trouble.
Chen Ming replied. “You’re most welcome, Miss Huo. It was the least I could do.”
After thanking Chen Ming, Huo Yao hung up the phone.
She gently spun her phone, but did not call Shangguan Yun.
Huo Yao sat on the balcony briefly before she went back inside the room. Just as she was about to leave the balcony, she glanced at the garden downstairs and was stunned.
Her eldest uncle was wearing normal clothes and watering some plants in the garden with a watering can. He did it with great familiarity and it looked completely natural.
Huo Yao crossed her arms. She finally noticed the plants in the garden. She paused for a couple of seconds before she turned to go back inside.
Before long, she went downstairs and found her way to the garden.
Huo Yao walked gently. Before she was able to get close enough, Huo Jinfeng had already detected someone’s presence even as he bent over working in the garden.
He raised his head promptly. The moment he noticed it was Huo Yao, the coldness on his face disappeared. It seemed as though it was never there before. “Not resting in your room?”
Huo Jinfeng stopped working and stood up.
“Uh huh.” Huo Yao nodded. She glanced at the garden. “Those don’t look like ordinary plants.”
Huo Jinfeng did not expect his niece to catch on with a single look. He smiled and replied with his eyes drifting away. “These are medicinal herbs.”
As he spoke, he picked up the watering can again and watered the plants more.
Huo Yao said profoundly, “The plants look very well taken care of.”
She felt it was the perfect time to up the level by posting a picture of the garden on social media.
Shangguan Tong was as stubborn as a woman from ancient times. If she did not do anything, Shangguan Tong probably would not react.
“Oh yes. Changfeng mentioned that you know Chinese medicine and you’re an apothecary,” said Huo Jinfeng casually while he looked sideways at his niece.
