1603 No Ordinary Person
Li Chenhui could not help asking Huo Yao when she suddenly halted. “Yes, Junior Sister?”
Huo Yao raised her head and could sense her cheek twitching. “Senior Brother, what did you just say?”
Did Uncle Changfeng go to the hotel in the afternoon?
Li Chenhui paused briefly before he cleared his throat and explained. “Erm… It was just a random example. Government officials give off the same vibe as well.”
Huo Yao shook her head. “It’s not that.”
“Huh? Not that?” Li Chenhui was at a loss. He recalled what he had just said and continued. “Are you talking about running into your uncle at the hotel in the afternoon?”
Huo Yao nodded. “Uh huh.”
“Yes, we ran into him. We only exchanged a few words before he left. Before parting ways with him, he asked about you,” said Li Chenhui candidly.
Huo Yao covered her eyes. She could already imagine the sight of Huo Changfeng running into her senior brothers in the hotel just as she mentioned that she was out having lunch with them over the phone. She felt awkward right down to her toes.
Her image was completely ruined.
Sure enough, it was a bad idea to lie. The truth would eventually surface.
“Junior Sister, what’s wrong?” Li Chenhui did not know what had come over Huo Yao and why she was reacting so strongly. He simply looked at her quizzically.
Huo Yao put down her hand. She gave him a fake smile. “It’s okay. My uncle isn’t going to eat anyone, right?”
Li Chenhui went speechless.
He suddenly felt threatened by her words.

Meanwhile, at Sirin University.
“Xia, lots of people are coming over. Do you want to go check it out? I hear people from other top colleges are coming over to visit.”
When Mo Lin walked into the dormitory, she saw Lu Xia reading a book sitting there and could not help feeling impressed.
Lu Xia was extremely hardworking.
She was not interested in those students. She simply replied calmly. “No, thanks. The conference is taking place tomorrow, and I will have plenty of opportunities to see them.”
“I’m so envious. You can even attend the conference.” Mo Lin leaned against her chin. Some people were blessed with good fortune, and there was no point in her feeling jealous.
Lu Xia put down the book in her hand and looked at Mo Lin. “I’m just helping out. It’s nothing.”
Even though Qiao En made an exception by getting her to participate in the conference, she was just there to receive their visitors. She was not good enough to take part in the actual conference.
“That’s equally good, right? You can take the opportunity to make friends,” said Mo Lin as she sighed.
Lu Xia simply smiled without answering her.
She did not need friends.
Mo Lin continued talking. Even though Lu Xia found her annoying and noisy, she did not show it on her face.
Lu Xia only interrupted Mo Lin when her phone rang. “Hang on. I need to take this call.”
Lu Xia smiled apologetically and took out her phone. After looking at the caller ID, she narrowed her eyes.
Lu Xia stood up, opened the balcony door, and answered the phone after closing the door.
“Yes?”
Lu Xia stood in front of the railing and looked at the school field in the distance as she spoke coolly.
“The target isn’t in the country,” said a man with a gruff voice over the phone.
Lu Xia narrowed her eyes. “Where is she then?”
“As I understand, she left the country to attend an academic conference located at Sirin University in Country M. Since we don’t dare to do anything on school grounds, we have to postpone this and wait for a better time.”
The man smoked a cigarette as he continued. “This person you’re after is no ordinary person, right?”
