1589 Only The Best For Miss Huo
Huo Yao sent Huo Changfeng a text message while she listened to Wu Yue. He had already made arrangements for food and accommodation.
She raised her head and looked at Wu Yue. “Mr. Wu, an elder from my family is picking me up for dinner. Can I go back to the hotel later?”
Since Huo Yao always seemed composed and stayed out of trouble, Wu Yue trusted her the most among them. He paused and nodded in agreement with hardly any hesitation. “Sure thing. Just stay in touch.”
After all, he was the teacher in charge, so he was responsible for her well-being.
“Okay, Mr. Wu.” Huo Yao veered her eyes and continued replying to the text message.
Li Chenhui and the others suddenly glanced at each other.
“Junior Sister, do you have family living here?” asked Li Chenhui.
Didn’t Prof Rong say Huo Yao was very poor?
“Uh huh.” Huo Yao answered without even raising her head. She failed to notice the expressions on her senior brothers’ faces.
When she was done texting, she finally detected them looking at her strangely.
Huo Yao could not help touching her face. “What’s wrong?”
Wen Ping cleared his throat and shook his head. He did not mention everyone’s suspicions out loud. Instead, he smiled and replied. “Nothing. Junior Sister, your family member is probably here, right? Why don’t you go ahead? Don’t keep him waiting.”
Huo Yao felt that something was up with them. Since they refused to talk, she did not insist.
A few minutes later, they got to the arrival gate.
From a distance, Huo Yao could see Huo Changfeng standing in the crowd. No one dared to come near him and people seemed intimidated by the man.
She pulled her suitcase and walked straight over. “Hi, Uncle Changfeng.”
Huo Changfeng removed his sunglasses and reached his hand out to take her luggage. “It was a long flight. You must be tired, right?”
“I’m good. Thanks for picking me up,” said Huo Yao gently.
Huo Changfeng smiled. He raised his head and looked at Wu Yue and the others. “Are these your teacher and classmates?”
“Uh huh,” acknowledged Huo Yao.
“Thank you for taking care of Miss Huo.” Huo Changfeng nodded slightly. He suppressed the usual intimidating look on his face.
He had worked hard practicing on looking more approachable and the practice was paying off now.
Even then, Li Chenhui and the others still did not dare to make eye contact with Huo Changfeng. They were instinctively afraid of Huo Changfeng.
Wu Yue was a little better. Since he was much older, he raised his head calmly. “You’re too kind. It was nothing.”
Li Chenhui and the others gave Wu Yue a thumbs up inwardly.
Wu Yue’s hand was sweating, so he placed it behind him. Even though it was not obvious, he had serious trouble keeping on the smile.
“I have already made arrangements for accommodation. Shall we have dinner?” Huo Changfeng looked at Wu Yue as he invited them enthusiastically.
Only the best for Miss Huo.
Wu Yue wanted to speak, but the moment he made eye contact with Huo Changfeng, he automatically agreed. “Sure thing. Thanks so much.”
Wu Yue felt stunned by his own reaction.
Huo Changfeng veered his eyes satisfactorily. He took out his phone and made a call. After exchanging a few words, he said to them, “The car is waiting outside. Shall we go?”
“I see. Sounds good.” Wu Yue nodded.
Everyone followed Huo Changfeng out of the airport in a daze.
When they stopped in front of an extended Rolls Royce pulled up in front of them, their faces collapsed. Other than shock, they were also blinded by the sight of the car.
