1553 Not Here To Demand An Apology
“I’m glad you’re free,” said Mr. Zhou. He turned sideways and gave way. “These gentlemen are from DO Corporation and they’d like to speak to you.”
Qi Hui was sitting in Liu Qian’s office. The moment he heard the conversation, he raised his head and looked at the door.
It was the representatives from DO Corporation standing at the door.
Qi Hui stood up and quickly went to the door as well.
When Mr. Zhou saw Qi Hui in the room, he greeted Qi Hui. “Are you here too, Mr. Qi?”
“Uh huh. I had something to say to him,” said Qi Hui as he glanced at the men standing behind Mr. Zhou.
A look of surprise swept across his face. He did not understand what they were doing here.
Before long, Qi Hui composed himself. He glanced at Liu Qian before he stepped aside and said to Mr. Zhou courteously, “Come in first.”
Mr. Zhou nodded.
Before long, they entered the office with Qi Hui and Liu Qian following behind.
“If you want to make this go away, you have to apologize,” said Qi Hui softly to Liu Qian as he stood beside him.
Liu Qian’s mind had turned to mush and he had trouble thinking straight. He automatically nodded to Qi Hui and replied. “Got it.”
They were whispering, so their conversation was nearly inaudible, but J happened to turn and glance at them.
Qi Hui invited J to take a seat and poured him a glass of water. He proceeded to immediately start apologetically. “I’m so sorry about what happened at the institute, Mr. Meng.”
J took the water but did not drink. Instead, he looked at Qi Hui quietly.
Qi Hui could sense his scalp go numb from the stare. The atmosphere felt very tense. He lowered his head, pulled Liu Qian beside him, and signaled for Liu Qian to speak up.
Liu Qian had composed himself by now. He opened his mouth and wanted to apologize instinctively, but then a thought struck him. Huo Yao had mentioned that the company would never demand an apology from them.
Liu Qian hesitated briefly before he raised his head and glanced at J. From the looks of it, he was not here to make trouble. He promptly composed himself and asked. “Mr. Meng, why did you want to see me?”
The moment he finished his sentence, Qi Hui cleared his throat and shot him a death stare.
Why was Liu Qian so stupid? He just needed to apologize, but he could not even get a simple task right.
Liu Qian pretended not to notice Qi Hui’s stare. Instead, Liu Qian stood with his back straight the entire time.
J put down his glass and stood up. He looked at Liu Qian, nodded politely, and said in a sincere tone, “Sorry about the things that you and your student had to go through.”
Liu Qian was completely stunned. Qi Hui was equally shocked.
He thought J was here to make them apologize, but he ended up apologizing first.
“Our company made a mistake by deciding to work with the institute. I hope Mr. Liu won’t take it to heart and accept my apology,” said J again.
“I-It’s okay. No, w-we were at fault as well…” Liu Qian stammered as he responded. For a moment, he was at a loss for words.
Liu Qian really wanted to slap his own face to see if he was dreaming. This seemed completely surreal to him.
“As for the project, I hope you can consider working with us. From now on, you will communicate directly with me regarding project matters,” said J. He reached his hand into his pocket to retrieve a name card and handed it to Liu Qian.
Liu Qian accepted the name card in a daze and lowered his head to look at it. The moment he saw the contents of the name card, his hand trembled automatically.
