1550 Accepted A Bribe
Wei Yong did not want to waste time talking to Qi Hui. He flung his sleeve and left the conference room huffily.
Qi Hui’s head really hurt. If he had seen this coming, he would never have brought Huo Yao to the institute. She was nothing but trouble!
Now, he had offended both Wei Yong and Mr. Meng.

After J left the conference room, he strode out quickly hoping to catch up with Huo Yao. He had to confirm his speculation.
Sadly, he was unable to find Huo Yao after walking out of the lobby.
Jie Xi came running after J. When he saw his boss looking around, he asked quizzically. “What are you looking at?”
J veered his eyes disappointedly and did not answer Jie Xi. He pondered briefly before he quickly strode to the parking lot. “We’re going to Tsing University.”
She was from the Biology department at Tsing University. He recalled Qi Hui calling him Huo Yao.
If he went to the school to find her, she might eventually emerge.
“Yes, Sir,” acknowledged Jie Xi. He did not know what his boss was thinking, but he could only follow up.
Before long, they got into the car.
J kept looking outside the car window until the car had driven out of the institute. He took out his phone and changed it to computer mode.
He hacked straight into Tsing University’s database.
Using the information he had gathered about Huo Yao earlier, J quickly found her file in the database.
It contained her residential address and a picture of her.
It was her. Thanks to his excellent memory, he remembered the address. Two years ago, he lost a bet to her, so he had to send people to this address and install a security system.
Back in the day, he initially suspected whether it was her residential address before changing his mind. If she genuinely needed a security system for her own place, it would be far easier for her to install it on her own. Also, her security system would probably be far better than his.
J said to himself as he looked at the address, ‘I’m an idiot.’
She had clearly given him the address but he decided it was not hers.
More importantly, he had been calling her ‘daddy’ for a long time, but she was surprisingly a young woman.
Complicated emotions flooded his heart. He used to think she was a middle-aged man!
Jie Xi looked into the rearview mirror as he drove. He had a lot of questions inside, so he could not help asking. “Mr. Meng, I thought you wanted the database. Why did you change your mind about working with the institute?”
J turned off his phone and replied annoyingly. “They’re not fit to work with me.”
He was no fool. He was just blacklisted yesterday. Judging from the words Huo Yao had said, he could tell the institute had done something unjust against her.
J narrowed his eyes as he pondered and said, “I have a question. Why did you end up talking to the institute?”
Jie Xi felt nervous. He knew there was no hiding the truth now. “I contacted Tsing University initially, but the institute informed me they had the patent for the database, so I decided to work with them.”
J looked up and glanced at Jie Xi from behind and said sternly, “They must have given you something, right?”
Jie Xi’s face was slightly pale, but he did not dare to speak or admit to bribery.
“When you get back, you’ll submit your resignation letter,” said J mildly.
Jie Xi opened his eyes wide in utter disbelief. After some time, he said indignantly, “How can you fire me? This was just a minor mistake.”
