1536 No Other Choice
“Since it was submitted to an important journal, I’m sure it has a lot of potential, right? Are you sure you want to do this?” said Qi Hui unhurriedly.
Liu Qian looked at Qi Hui furiously. “I wonder what the institute promised you to keep making things hard for our students?”
First, Qi Hui threatened Liu Qian with the patent. Now, he was threatening him with the journal. Sometimes, when people were overwhelmed by greed, there was no stopping them.
He had already given in, but they continued forcing him.
Qi Hui did not care about Liu Qian’s feelings and could not be bothered to even answer him. “Patents and articles work the same way. All it takes is a call to revoke them.”
Liu Qian promptly felt as though a rock was weighing his chest. It was so heavy that he had trouble breathing.
He simply had no choice.
Before long, Qi Hui walked out of Liu Qian’s office. There was a smile on his face and he was clearly in a good mood.
After reaching downstairs, Qi Hui gave Wei Yong a call. “It’s settled.”
Wei Yong was completely unsurprised by the outcome. He was clearly accustomed to doing this and getting his way all the time.
“Perfect. The company is sending a representative in a couple of days. I hear they have already sent the teacher some files. Tell the teacher to sort them out and send them over.” Wei Yong paused and instructed him.
Liu Qian was completely under Qi Hui’s thumb and he knew that Liu Qian would do everything he said, so he agreed without hesitation. “Sure thing. I’ll take care of it.”
“In that case, I’ll be waiting for your call,” said Wei Yong before hanging up the phone.
Qi Hui put away his phone and turned to go to Liu Qian’s office again.
Wei Yong contemplated briefly before he turned on his laptop to send the company representative an email about setting up the appointment.

After leaving Liu Qian’s office, Huo Yao went straight to the Physics department.
The school term had started, so she had to report to both the Biology and Physics departments.
“Are you free? Prof Rong wants you to wait for him here. He’s attending a meeting at the administrative department on campus. He should be back in no time,” said Wu Yue as he filled up a report.
“Okay then,” acknowledged Huo Yao. Prof Rong had already texted her about this yesterday.
“Oh yes. I passed you some holiday reading last year before the term break started. Are you done studying it?” asked Wu Yue as he raised his head.
Huo Yao sat in the chair flipping through an academic journal. When she heard what Wu Yue said, she was at a loss. After some time, she finally recalled what he was talking about.
After her grandmother passed away last year, she chucked the book somewhere and did not take it out once.
She touched her nose and replied in a stifled tone. “It was okay.”
Wu Yue put down his pen in surprise. “What do you think? Did you have any problems?”
Huo Yao had briefly read a couple of pages and she did not find its contents hard at all. She paused and replied. “Was it hard? I thought it was so-so.”
Was it easy for her?
Complicated emotions swept through Wu Yue’s heart. A huge gulf existed between normal people and geniuses like her.
“Your senior brothers have not even reached the level to comprehend the books,” said Wu Yue sadly.
Huo Yao’s heart skipped a beat.
Wu Yue said miserably, “Why don’t you just transfer to the Physics department? The Physics department is so much better than Biology.”
Huo Yao was speechless.
