Nie Su and Old Master Min promptly turned their attention towards Prof Min’s matter.
“Is he back already?” The news was a pleasant surprise for Nie Su. “Really? I called him a couple of days ago, but he didn’t mention it.”
Min Yu said with a straight face, “Maybe he wants to surprise you.”
“I’m just glad he wasn’t trying to scare me.” Nie Su shook her head angrily. She did not continue eating dinner and got up to get the phone.
Old Master Min pointed at his grandson. “I know you deliberately changed the subject.”
Min Yu leaned into the seat backrest and smiled without saying a word. His phone suddenly rang in his pocket.
He paused briefly before retrieving his phone.
He had received a text message from an unknown number containing only an address.
Min Yu glanced at the address and promptly assumed that someone had sent it to the wrong number and deleted it. He put away his phone and looked at Old Master Min. “Grandpa, enjoy your dinner. I’m going back first.”
“Already?” Old Master Min was stunned.
“Uh huh.” Min Yu stood up and smiled ambiguously as he sighed. “I have to be responsible to your granddaughter-in-law, right?”
The old man went speechless. “…”
Min Yu walked over to the living room and took his jacket without waiting for Old Master Min to respond and headed out of the villa.
When Nie Su was done calling her husband, she came back and noticed her missing son. “Where is he?”
“He’s gone.” Old Master Min shrugged helplessly.
Nie Su looked at the door and said, “Did he have to leave so quickly? I wasn’t done talking to him.”
…
Min Yu left the villa and drove back to his place. On his way back, he smiled as he placed his hand on his chest and pondered. He turned off the music in the car, took out his phone, and sent Huo Yao a text message.
After sending a text message for some time, he did not get a reply from her.
Min Yu did not take it to heart. When he got back to the estate, he did not go straight home. Instead, he pulled up outside her villa.
He sat in the car briefly before getting out of the car and looking at the villa. The lights outside the villa were on, but the lights in the rooms on the second floor were off and the rooms were dark.
Min Yu retrieved his phone and checked it, but he had yet to hear back from her. He paused before calling her directly.
As he raised his head, he could hear the door opening, so he automatically paused and looked up.
“What are you doing here?” Huo Yulin opened the door and stepped out. When he saw the man standing by the roadside, he looked at him expressionlessly.
Min Yu put away his phone and disregarded Huo Yulin’s distant attitude. He greeted him and asked. “Is she home?”
Huo Yulin felt puzzled. “Isn’t she with you?”
Even though Huo Yulin often came back late, he knew that the asshole often lured his little sister to his place.
When the maid informed him that his little sister had gone out this evening, he simply assumed she had gone over to Min Yu’s place.
Min Yu felt puzzled and shook his head. “Nope. She didn’t come over.”
“Is that so? Then again, my little sister is a cute girl. I’m not surprised if some other guy called her out,” responded Huo Yulin mildly.
Min Yu went speechless.
“I’m busy, so please make yourself scarce.” The moment he finished his sentence, Huo Yulin turned to go back into the villa and slammed the door shut behind him without giving Min Yu the chance to speak.
Min Yu watched as Huo Yulin shut the door behind him mercilessly. He sighed softly thinking about his prospects of marrying Huo Yao.
