Yuan Xi had just gone back to the dormitory after returning from the library when some girl from another room came looking for her.
“Is Yuan Xi here? Someone wants to see her. He’s waiting at the East entrance.”
When Yuan Xi heard her name, she automatically put down her phone and said quizzically, “That’s me. Did the guy mention who he was?”
The girl shook her head. “I don’t know either. Someone else told me to pass the message.”
Yuan Xi nodded and thanked the girl. After the girl was gone, she pondered as she left her room.
Before long, she arrived at the school gate.
There were hardly any students at the entrance at this hour of the day, so the security guard was playing with his phone inside the security booth. Yuan Xi walked out of the school and raised her head to glance around. She promptly noticed someone standing nearby.
Since the man was standing with his back facing her and wearing a hoodie, Yuan Xi was unable to see his face. She could only tell it was a man.
She paused for a couple of seconds and walked toward him.
“Hello? Were you looking…”
Before Yuan Xi could finish her sentence, the man turned around. When she saw his face, her face turned ghastly pale.
She had not felt this way for some time, but she was instantly terrified.
“D-didn’t you get arrested?” Yuan Xi automatically retreated by a step.
Yuan Huan was still wearing his mask. When he saw the fear in her eyes, he smiled and said nonchalantly, “Huh? You sound happy that I was arrested, my dear little sister.”
Yuan Xi tightened her fists and kept shaking her head. She had stayed on campus without going home, and no one had told her about her older brother’s release.
Yuan Huan was well concealed and Yuan Xi had a bad feeling just looking at him. She suppressed her fear and forced herself to calm down. “When did you get released? Why did you want to see me so urgently?”
Yuan Huan did not answer her. Instead, he simply turned the black ring on his index finger.
Yuan Xi felt even more worried, so she instinctively took another step back. “If you have nothing to say to me, I’m going back to my room.”
Something was wrong with Yuan Huan. The moment she finished her sentence, she turned and went back into the school. Before she was able to walk away, she could suddenly sense something stabbing her in the neck leaving her in pain.
Yuan Xi froze briefly. In an instant, she lost consciousness.
Yuan Huan turned his ring one last time and reached his hand out to help support Yuan Xi. He helped her into the cab which was waiting by the roadside nearby.
Hardly any students walked out of the campus at this hour of the day. Since they were a man and a woman, people usually assumed they were a couple and felt it was normal for them to embrace each other.
Before long, the cab driver started the engine and left the university.

When Yuan Xi regained consciousness, three hours had passed. She struggled to open her eyes. The moment she opened them, all she could see was darkness. It was impossible to tell where he had taken her.
Also, she felt a little giddy. After a minute or two, she finally remembered the moment before she passed out.
Yuan Xi instinctively felt scared just thinking about Yuan Huan. It was dark and she could smell the scent of medical solution in the air, so she could not help feeling afraid.
She did not know what Yuan Huan wanted from her, but it must be bad news.
Yuan Xi felt inside her jacket pocket and realized that her phone was gone.
