The assistant acknowledged Deputy Chairman Qin before leaving the conference room.
Deputy Chairman Qin turned and wanted to sit down, but his phone rang in his pocket.
He paused briefly before he took out his phone. When he saw an unknown phone number appearing on the screen, he wanted to hang up right away.
Just as he was about to hang up, a text message notification appeared on the screen showing a single word.
[Prescriptions.]
Deputy Chairman Qin narrowed his eyes. The moment he saw the text message, he thought about Huo Yao.
The message was sent using the same number that had called him earlier.
Qin Zheng stood where he was holding his phone without moving. Since there were still 20 minutes before the voting commenced, he tapped on the phone a couple of times and pressed the dial button.
Before long, someone answered the phone and a cool voice could be heard. “I’m in your office.”
The moment Qin Zheng heard the voice, he recognized it and knew it was Huo Yao.
He parted his lips wanting to speak, but all he could hear was the mechanical dial tone.
She had hung up the phone.
Qin Zheng was accustomed to VIP treatment and people rarely hung up on him so rudely. He was angry, but he promptly suppressed his anger when he thought about Huo Yao’s prescriptions.
Considering her timing, she was not here solely for the medication to save Min Yu. She must be here to thwart the voting process.
Qin Zheng naturally knew what she wanted. He smiled as he raised his head to glance at the people sitting around the conference table and turned to leave the room.
The prescriptions and position were both his.

The assistant was standing at the door when Deputy Chairman Qin walked out unexpectedly. He asked in surprise. “Where are you going?”
Qin Zheng raised his hand. “I’m going back to the office for a bit. Keep your eye on the conference room. Call me if anything happens. I’ll be back soon.”
The assistant hurriedly nodded and acknowledged the man.
Qin Zheng quickly took the lift and went to the third floor.
The office was the second last room at the end of the corridor and the door was closed. When Qin Zheng swiped his security pass to access it, he paused and thought about his conversation with Huo Yao.
She had mentioned that she was already waiting in his office.
Qin Zheng narrowed his eyes and tapped his pass on the door.
When the door opened, he walked into the office.
The moment he entered the office, he could see a slim silhouette standing in the room, in front of the French windows with her back facing the door. She was dressed in a black coat and gave off a particularly cool aura.
Qin Zheng looked at her from behind and asked in a deep voice. “How did you get in?”
Half a minute later, Huo Yao turned nonchalantly. Qin Zheng promptly saw her cool gorgeous face.
“If I want to come in, no one can stop me.” Huo Yao smiled innocently as she took a few steps forward and sat down on the couch casually.
Qin Zheng frowned slightly in annoyance when he saw Huo Yao’s confidence. He wasted no time and got straight to his subject. “Where are the prescriptions?”
Huo Yao crossed her legs and seemed relaxed. She tilted her head sideways, looked at Qin Zheng, and asked rhetorically. “I’m curious. If you are so well connected, why didn’t your boss give you some prescriptions?”
Qin Zheng frowned even more deeply upon hearing this. Huo Yao’s attitude was quite different from what he had expected.
It felt as though she was neither here for medication nor here to mess up the voting.
