Huo Yao placed Huo Tingrui’s head on her lap inside the car. He was still bleeding from external injuries. She retrieved her silver needles and swiftly performed acupuncture on him. Before long, the bleeding stopped.
However, Huo Tingrui remained unconscious the entire time.
Before long, the car arrived at the emergency room. Chen Ming stopped the car at the main entrance and shouted at the nurses for a stretcher.
After carefully placing Huo Tingrui on the stretcher, the doctors and nurses pushed him into the emergency room.
Huo Yao stood outside the emergency room. When the nurses went in to help, she told one of them to test Huo Tingrui’s blood.
She leaned against the wall. Even though the blood on her hands had already dried, she failed to notice it. Instead, she kept looking at the red light outside the emergency room.
There was a solemn look on her face.
Huo Changfeng hurried over in two minutes. “How’s your second older brother?”
The moment Huo Yao heard Huo Changfeng’s voice, she snapped out of her daze. She paused for a couple of seconds and composed herself. Then, she raised her head to look at Huo Changfeng and shook her head. “He broke two ribs. Other than some external injuries, he should be fine.”
Huo Changfeng heaved a sigh of relief on hearing this. He comforted Huo Yao briefly before he noticed the blood on her hands and asked. “Are you hurt? You really should get a nurse to take care of it.”
“I’m fine. It’s someone else’s blood. Uncle Changfeng, I’m heading to the bathroom.” Huo Yao bowed before turning to head towards the other end of the corridor.
Her slender frame gave off a solemn aura from behind.
Huo Changfeng watched with a serious look on his face as she left. Chen Ming had come back from settling the hospital bill. “Chief Steward, you’re here. Where is Miss Huo?”
“She has gone to the bathroom.” Huo Changfeng turned around. “What happened?”
Chen Ming quickly told him about what had just transpired. “They were just hired help. We haven’t found out who they are yet.”
Huo Changfeng nodded the moment he heard this. He turned to look at the emergency room door for some time before he finally asked. “Who did Young Master Tingrui offend lately?”
Chen Ming recalled those people at the scrap yard asking for something when they arrived. He promptly replied. “I will get someone to investigate what case he is working on, in the capital.”
“Uh huh.” Huo Changfeng narrowed his eyes. He thought about what Chen Ming had just told him and inquired. “Does Miss Huo know martial arts?”
Chen Ming took out his phone and was about to call his subordinate. He nodded the moment he heard the question and concluded. “She is fast, nimble, and an excellent fighter.”
Huo Changfeng touched his bead bracelet gently with a look of surprise. If this was what Chen Ming had to say about her, she must be very good.
After Chen Ming was done making the calls, he recalled something and added. “Oh yes. Miss Huo’s driving skills are at par with yours.”
She drove so quickly that it made Chen Ming’s legs go soft.
Huo Changfeng recalled asking Huo Yao if she could drive, but she had claimed that her driving was average. Huo Changfeng could not help going speechless.

Meanwhile, Huo Yao went to the bathroom to wash the bloodstains off her hands before coming out.
She did not go back to the emergency room right away. Instead, she headed to a secluded corner before taking out her phone and calling Huo Tingrui’s assistant. “What case are you working on in the capital?”
When the assistant learned his boss was safe, he heaved a sigh of relief.. He hesitated briefly before he said, “It’s a trade secret, so I can’t talk about it.”
