Daybloom was not mistaken.
Qin Feng and Bai Li had teleported in front of Daybloom when the giant Bloodlust Centipede was flaunting its maw ready to chomp down.
Qin Feng held his hand up and unleashed a freezing aura. Ice runes soon spread through the centipede’s body.
The Insectoid was, after all, just a C-tier beast king. It could not withstand Qin Feng’s assault. A basic ice-type ability was all Qin Feng needed to freeze the monster into a giant ice sculpture.
“Ice Blast!”
The ice-runes promptly exploded under Qin Feng’s order.
It was a beautiful blast. The ice sculpture instantly shattered into a crystalline firework. Qin Feng’s furrowed brows were soothed a little when the hideous-looking centipede died in such a colorful way.
A blood-red core containing immense energy dropped to the ground. Qin Feng took a glance at it. Like the Gorefiend’s core, this core seemed to enhance vitality.
But this was not the time for examining the core. More and more centipedes were heading their way now. After Qin Feng took down one of them, its blood scent had only attracted more of its kind.
“Mr. Qin…” Daybloom cried hysterically. He was terrified by the centipedes’ demoralizing presence. Being an ordinary teenager that had yet to awaken, his guts were crushed by the intimidating pressure.
“Let’s go!” Qin Feng ignored the Bloodlust Centipedes and had Bai Li carry Daybloom as they fled.
Schwaff!
They disappeared into thin air and immediately reappeared on top of a building.
Bam!
A few soldiers crashed the door leading to the rooftop. They were stunned to see three youngsters there and shouted, “Kids, get inside and hide. Don’t go too far from us. This building is safe for now!”
They then ignored them and began to set up their weapons.
These men were undoubtedly gunslingers.
A few of them were suited up in a ten-meter-high mecha. They launched to the sky and opened fire toward the centipedes on the ground.
Qin Feng was not interested and turned to Daybloom. “The gold roses that you sold to us earlier are very beautiful. Do you still have its seeds?”
Daybloom was baffled. He would never expect that to be the first question coming out of his savior’s mouth. ‘Why does he still care so much about the flower in this situation?’
“I still have it in my house.”
“Then, please sell them to me. Of course, you can keep some for yourself.” The kid could be awakened anytime, or not at all. The gold rose might be his only means of living before that. Qin Feng had no intention of taking everything away.
Daybloom was still in shock after facing death at such a close call. Although Qin Feng had saved him in the final moment, Daybloom still had no idea how powerful Qin Feng was.
“Okay. Once the army exterminates the centipedes, I will get them for you.” Naturally, Daybloom dared not reject his savior’s request.
Qin Feng did not want to get involved in this dimension’s affair. Besides, the scale of this battle was child’s play compared to those taking place in Qin Feng’s dimension. He said mindlessly, “We don’t need to wait till then. Tell me where your house is. We will go and retrieve it now.”
Qin Feng then called up a map and asked Daybloom to point out the location of his house.
Daybloom hesitated for a moment, then pleaded sincerely, “Mr. Qin, aren’t you an aptitude user? I don’t know anything about you but you seem pretty strong. Don’t you think fending off the monsters is more urgent than the flower seeds now? Mr. Qin, if you help them to resist the Bloodlust Centipede, then I am willing to hand you all my seeds. Otherwise… otherwise…” Daybloom was looking for the right words anxiously. But he could not find anything to threaten Qin Feng with. Daybloom did not have any bargaining chip to negotiate with Qin Feng, to begin with.
Qin Feng lamented when he saw Daybloom’s righteousness and bravery.
‘This kid is indeed a product of a peaceful world.’
In his dimension, people resisted beast waves simply because they wanted to survive.
But in the eyes of Daybloom, such a battle embodied responsibility and heroism. He would even despise those that run away from it, which he probably deemed as cowardice.
“All right. Guess I have to labor myself a little for your seeds.”
It was unwise for Qin Feng to take action here. After all, he was not a resident of this dimension. If he showcased too much of his power, it might startle the elects of this world. Qin Feng did not want to get tangled up in unnecessary disputes.
But since he was only dealing with Bloodlust Centipedes within a city, Qin Feng believed it would not matter much.
“Shadow Split!”
Qin Feng summoned his ten servants.
He could already make seven splits when he was at A7-tier. Ten was an upgrade but that did not it was the maximum number he could manage now.
This was because S-tier was not just a simple evolution. The leap from A to S was greater than any previous rank-up. It was doable if Qin Feng wished to summon another ten shadows.
Most importantly, all these shadows were S-tiers too.
Although the true power of the shadows was masked by the dark runes, their aura was still pretty daunting. The gunslingers and soldiers that hardly minded them earlier were all turning their heads toward them now. They were perplexed and looked at Qin Feng bizarrely.
“Go!”
The shadows obediently split up in all directions. The nearest Bloodlust Centipede was right under their feet. It was a C-tier beast emperor. Its body spanned more than ten-meter-long and was two-meter-tall. The hovercrafts and aircrafts parked beside the road could hardly stop its march.
Ratatat!
The monster’s leg poked through the tar road like it was made of sponge. A mecha-riding human dived toward the centipede trying to stall it, but offered little resistance.
Poof!
One of the centipede’s legs penetrated the mecha shell and pierced right through the soldier.
His comrades lost their cool when they saw what happened. They rushed toward the centipede, wanting to avenge their fallen brother.
This was when one of Qin Feng’s servants landed on the head of the centipede.
To the soldiers, that was a suicidal move. But what happened next stunned them.
Beginning from its head, rot spread through its body segments quickly. Its body lost its initial glimmer and turned greyish. Life force was abandoning the creature rapidly. In the blink of an eye, the monster had turned into a desiccated specimen.
Qin Feng’s shadow scooped up the centipede’s core and jumped to the next target without any delay.
Qin Feng’s current conscious power could easily cover the entire city. All beasts’ lives were diminished wherever his ten deity-tier servants went.
On top of the building, the soldiers and Daybloom gazed at Qin Feng half-astonished, half-terrified.
Qin Feng’s atrocious skills indicated that he was a dark ability user.
Such an ability was usually unwelcome in most dimensions.
